Hotel was abit overpriced for what it offers, but def. one of the nicest on the beach. Friendly staff, Great views from every room. Room was basic. Breakfast is simple.

We had an excellent stay (7 nights) at this hotel. Beautiful room, kingsize bed with a good matrass (my experience in Thailand that this is often really bad!) very good perfect bathroom (rainshower!), shampoo, bodylotion, lots of (daily) clean towels, really everything is provided.
Also: television and dvd which is with kids in the early morning very convienent!
Very nice and friendly staff, perfect service, always with a smile, very helpfull and polite.
Hotel itself is nice and small and therefore a cozy atmosphere. Nice view from about every room. Location nice and quiet but not too quiet. For 30 baht a person, you're in the main town.
I will highly recommend this hotel to everybody who goes to Lanta and does not mind to pay just a little more. But then again the roomrate is really nothing compared to the European prices especially because the rooms and service are european standard.
traveling around Krabi & staying at Phi...
traveling around Krabi & staying at Phi Phi, Lanta & Railay was wonderful, each Island had it's uniqueness & if I had to plan the trip again, I wouldn't change a thing!
The Maya hotel (when telling local drivers, you should say Ma-Ya, or they won't understand!) was a pearl in the island! very clean, 12 deluxe rooms, each one with a zodiac sign (we were in the scorpio upstairs, but it's better to have the virgo since it's right in the middle, that's if you don't need twin beds), a great stretch of beach, wonderful sunsets, very close to Saladan city which has great restaurants! the staff was very unique, giving a very warm homely feeling! the hotel manager (who speaks perfect english) gave us tips where to go and what to do!
even though we were there during the low season, and were the only guests for 2 nights out of 3, we didn't feel any desertness, on the contrary! the pool was all ours, and we got all the attention!
after Railay & before Phi Phi, Lanta was so peaceful and fun (don't miss the klapa klum bar on long beach for good food & sungsum buckets!, the owners, A & Cedric are very warm & welcoming!).
another tip - we took a jeep from Lanta Rental, if you take a trip to the southern part and the waterfall, take a local guide since we got lost and never got to the waterfall itself! don't miss the sea gypsy's town, very beautiful & makes you think twice of what you have back home!

We had our honeymoon at Maya Koh Lanta and we had a fabulous time. The staff were excellent and made an effort to add to our special time by giving us a bottle of bubbly upon arrival and rose petals in our bedroom, it was very sweet. The location is awesome right on the beach but you could choose from a deck chair on the sand or by the pool, but the ocean is just a short hop away. You get the best views of the sunset which you can watch while lazing in the pool. The beach area was clean and the water clear. Highly recommend this hotel if you don't mind spending a little more. And again the staff were excellent, so friendly and helpful. They arranged our return trip to Krabi with a private taxi at our chosen time. It was a perfect stay.

Stayed 4 nights and had a great time. The room, location and service were great, and I would seriously consider staying at this hotel again

Stayed with my boyfriend in Nov 2006, were probably among the first to stay there. travelling there from Krabi airport was a bit tricky, but it was all worth it. Unbelivable view from the bedroom, quiet space, stylish design with a cosy feel. Staff were friendly, 10mins ride to town. Spacious rooms and bathroom, very sexy bathroom.recommended for couples, that intend to spend quiet time in the hotel by the beach, not for the rowdy crowd.

We stayed in the Maya Resort in the beginning of deceber and enjoyed every single minute. The staff is still intraining but very friendly and helpful. The rooms all have an extraordinary sea-view,a design-bathroom and everything is nice and clean. The pool is small but the beach/sea is close enough....

stayed here end march 2006. hotel is new (finished end 2005). Rather small hotel (18 rooms), but large rooms with a view to die for : from your bed (and from your bath!) you can watch the Andaman see. But : the hotel is not a cheepy.
Good and friendly service and good restaurant.
