If only customers were as important as cards.
The resort itself is quite pleasant, the pool is very nice, the restaurant and bar are right on the beach, the rooms are ageing but adequate. There is an on-site massage service and tour bookings, and you can get free wireless in some places around the resort complex.
The thing which really killed the resort for us was the service. While there were a few staff members who were very good, particularly in the bar, most of the people working at the resort were more interested in playing cards than serving customers. There were days that we'd arrive at a table, wait for a while, wave someone over who would the grudgingly bring a menu, the wait some more trying in vain to get someone to pay some attention. On more than one occasion, we left to find another restaurant. Interrupting a card game by going and asking for something merited angry looks and surly service.
Food at the restaurant was generally solid, nothing spectacular but by no means bad (when you could get it). I recommend the coconut lassi.
We had a problem with the air conditioner in our first room, but the staff were happy to move us to a larger room with a functional air conditioner unit at no cost.
