A little far from the pier. The room is very good and comfortable, but the hot shower need to be waited for a while when you entry the room. If you want to enjoy your vocation for a silent and indepedance, this hotel is a good chioce.

We stayed at the Arayaburi hotel in June 2006, it is the new part of the Bay View hotel and is quite a walk from the reception and dining area. However, the room was lovely - we had a seaview bungalow that overlooked the very quiet hotel beach. To get into the town there are no roads but you have to walk along the beach - this didn't bother us at all. If you want to be near to nightlife and a choice of restaurants Ton sai beach is the place to stay and not the holiday inn on the other side of the island as there are no roads and the long tail boats don't always run in the rainy season due to waves. We were glad of the location but the hotel facilities weren't brilliant.

There are two main minus points of this hotel. Firstly is that the resort is set on a very steep hill side of lush vegetation with bungalows set among thin pathways. (the hill does allow an unbelievable view if you want to fork out for a bay view room). Golf carts reluctantly ferry people and bags to their rooms upon arrival and if you are patient and persuasive enough throughout your stay (this service does stop early evening although its amazing what can happen if you are willing to slip someone 50 bhat. Secondly at high tide the beach that you have to walk along to reach the hotel dissapears, so you either wait or wade.
The overall accomodation is good, clean, comfortable, well air conditioned, comp fridge and safe and is serviced well daily. Breakfast was poor but included and the view from breakfast was breathtaking.
I would reccomend the Arayaburi resort as long as you are prepared for that hill, after looking around the island you are not really going to get better for the price and it is nice to be away from the hussle and bussle of the main beach.

The Arayaburi is the best resort on Koh Phi Phi Island that we have seen.
A problem on the whole island including the Arayaburi resort is called SERVICE. For not really being a cheap place to stay, the service sucked! A tuna can was sitting on a stump in the middle of the resort the whole week we were there. Nobody felt responsible for picking it up, just like any other garbage laying around. Breakfast was great, but there was always something missing - plates, forks, food. Until you don`t tell the staff to replace the missing things, they are not going to do so. They are nice but lazy.
The guy who was supposed to pick up our luggage on the day we left never showed up until 20 minutes after we had called the front desk. All these are just little examples showing that the Service is far from perfect.
Anyway, the bungalows are beautiful and the resort has the best view on the sea. Breakfast is yummy! We recommend the Arayaburi Resort!

Friendly people. As location is built on hillside, a golfcar brings/picks you up upon request, which is very convinient.
Very beautiful beach and vegetation. Also nice breakfeast restaurant with view to the beautiful sea.

The hotel is fitting with the natural surroundings of the paradise island. The air con in room is climate control and works excellent which you need. The service is very good and the hotel reception will always point you in the correct direction. The rooms are well equiped for a island like Phi Phi where big high rise white hotels are left in Phuket. The breakfast has Worldwide opptions and is very nice. I enjoy nice hotels no hotel will offer to many facilities in Phi Phi but this is one of the best.
