This is the 2nd time that we've stayed at this Resort because we like the ease of using the hotel provided ferry, the location to the town, the great beach front area. Breakfast is not fantastic but it is sufficient. The rooms we stay in are similar to a Kiwi Bach, just great for a long weekend or the week. You can relax by the beach or the pool or stroll down to down along the shoreline, or rent a bike and explore the area. If you just want to vege in absolute tranquility I'd suggest a more secluded beach resort. Enjoy your stay.

Getting to the hotel is made easy...
Getting to the hotel is made easy using the free ferry service provided by the hotel. You board the ferry from the Seree Pier not Ban Phe Pier. The pool is small but overall it was ok as they have a 2nd pool further back on the property. The pool bar service was very very slow and waiters had little english therefore could not explain the delay causing more frustration. The breakfast was ok with covered seating and outdoor seating, however the 2nd day of our stay it rained and they were not able to provide adequate covered seatintg. And the breakfast was pricey for what you got. We had 2 rooms, the twin was a good size but the double room was on the small size. As for the location it was just perfect, at the end of the Sai Kiew Beach short walk to the township. the boys were able to swim in the ocean, what was annoying was the boats that came up onto the shoreline to get passengers. should have a single channel for the boats that way swimmers where not having to move for boats. Overall a good place for holiday and we would go back.

This was a nice place to stay but at $121AUD per night for a standard room it certainly wasn't value for money. I would stay here again but will wait for the low season, so that it's more affordable.

We stayed 5 nights at Sai Kaew...
We stayed 5 nights at Sai Kaew Beach Resort, 2 adults and our 17 year old daughter. Overall we were very satisfied. The only downside was possibly the pool, which was quite far from the beach and mainly full of children. If we had known this we would probably have gone for a beach front room rather than a pool front room. The staff were very friendly and the restaurant service was excellent.

We booked a Deluxe Cottage which was...
We booked a Deluxe Cottage which was fine but located right opposite the pool which meant there was hardly any privacy once other guests used the pool for swimming and sunbathing. The cottages are quite dark already so the last thing we wanted to do is close all the blinds. The little terraces are cute but again not a place for a cosy afternoon coffee. (you virtually sit on a podium) Outdoor shower is fun until all the water gets into the bathroom because the water runs off extremely slowly. Toilet seat needs to be replaced, hangers etc. srcewed on properly. Room is fine otherwise and perfectly ok for a 2 or 3 nights. Staff is very friendly and polite. Breakfast is the usual fare, other food is overpriced and catered to western tourists. Be prepared for a dusty arrival if you come in via the dirt road. If it rains it's a mud slide. Nevertheless, probably still the best place on Sai Kaew Beach. Water was clean and the beach beautiful unless you walk further down to the other end where it's getting quite dirty and a stinky sewer makes its way into the sea. It gets quite filthy outside the Resort and one has to wonder why Koh Samet is considered a National Park.

THis is the second time we have...
THis is the second time we have stayed at Sai Kaew resort. The first time, we stayed in the superior rooms and basically you are getting what you pay for.. Very basic accommodation and what annoyed me was that they only had twin beds which had to be pushed together to make a double.. The second time we visited, we stayed in the deluxe bungalow.. very spacious with an outdoor bathroom.. Overall, a lovely place to stay for a peaceful holiday. beautiful white sands and clear sea and the staff are very helpful land friendly.. I do think that it is about time they updated their Parasols as they are quite worn down.. We intend on going back again this year.. if we do, i intend on staying in the Deluxe bungalows again.. slightly pricey but i think its worth it.

When I initially saw the room, I...
When I initially saw the room, I thought it was slightly expensive. However, I realized Ko Samed is generally a bit pricey partly because it started out attracting a Western crowd. All in, this hotel is good value for money being on the central beach and just 5 minutes from the ferry terminal. It is also relatively modern feeling and not too rustic. When I needed stuff from housekeeping they also responded relatively quickly. The selection for breakfast is quite good if not too much in variety. Its a good place to stay, for activities such as food, massage and boat trips, will be less expensive to source from surrounding hotels etc. Bottomline: clean and central.
