Restaurant staff were very rude,especially the chef.Hotel is very isolated from other places on the island.No water pressure so cant even have a shower.There are a lot of other hotels which are a lot cheaper and better value for money.

Moobaan Talay is on a really beautiful...
Moobaan Talay is on a really beautiful private beach, the rooms are pretty nice and the restaurant and pool are good. However, that is where the positive points end. i hope that the owners read these comments because if they changed the management they could have a more successful hotel. The service was terrible - we had to serve ourselves drinks on a few occasions - once the pool bar inexplicably closed all day. Another time we were forced out of the main restaurant due to a noisy karaoke dinner organized by a local company. We had not choice but to accept this, we were informed when we arrived and there was no attempt to compensate us. This was already unacceptable, but made worse when they did not set a table by the pool for us as booked, and then failed to allocate a staff member to wait on us. We had the feeling from the staff that they were "doing us a favor" by serving us. On top of that it was totally overpriced, with a hefty and undeserved 10% service charge. The food prices were 5 star, but I have had better service and quality in a second rate backpacker guest house... again it is a shame, because the setting is beautiful.

The service was quite good but the price was way too high especially considering the fact that it didnt even include breakfast and the rooms werent equipped with TV or other modern amenities (except AC) everything's a tad on the expensive side

Our stay at Mooban Talay is hard...
Our stay at Mooban Talay is hard to describe. On one hand the room was quite nice with a big, comfortable bed and a beautiful view on the sea (can just be seen from deluxe bungalows). The staff was perfect: polite, helpful and also showed interest in our wellbeing AFTER leaving the hotel. On the other hand it was too quiet and far away from other places. You have to pay aproximately 20 Euro to get where the entertainment is and back. This is out of proportions for Thailand. The same with the price: way too much for what you get. The floor was clean but curtains and towels had spots all over. Worst of all were hunderds of mosquitos chasing you as soon as you step out of the door. If you don’t wear long sleaves and pants you will be stung in less then a minute – bring lots of mosquito lotion!!! And also: make sure that you don’t come in the rainy season plus better go to the hotel’s little bureau at the port in Ban Phe in order to get on the boat directly to the hotel. We didn’t know so we went on a public boat that brought us to the general port from which we couldn’t walk to the hotel and promptly the taxi driver took advantage of that fact and charged way too much. Alltogether: our stay was good because of the care of the staff but way too expensive for what you get.

Koh Samet is GREAT! Mooban Talay Resort...
Koh Samet is GREAT! Mooban Talay Resort is GOOD! The place is nice, the staff is good, polite, helpful, work hard, they made me feel at home! You may feel so relax in this hotel, because not much people there. The bathroom is great, it's an open air bathroom! I've dinner on the beach, it was good, romantic and worthwhile! (if you can bear the mosquitoes) However, the breakfast is just normal OK. I was having a great time in Mooban Talay Resort Hotel Koh Samet Island.

We loved our stay at this hotel....
We loved our stay at this hotel. The staff are fantastic and I really don't think you would find better service anywhere. The location is also beautiful - even poor weather for a day didn't mar our enjoyment. I would heartily recommend a stay here for anyone who wanted to get away from it all and find some peace and tranquility.
