Imperial Samui Beach Resort, Koh Samui  

The greeting was nice enough, however shortly there after we were informed that they had double booked and we (along with another couple) were being shipped downtown to another hotel for the night - not a very nice way to start our 5-night honeymoon! There was no admission of fault and no compensation for their stuff up. If we were notified earlier, it wouldn't have been a problem. Not very professional. The next day we were back on the resort and ready for action, only to find nothing was 'included' in our hotel fees. Tennis rackets and court hire were extra costs, there is no gym, internet access was an extra cost, bus into town and airport transfers were extras. The restaurant was nice, however horrendously over priced for what it offered. The rooms were tidy and we only saw one cockroach. We thought we were getting a good deal, but the overpriced 'extras' really added about 40% to the bill. For the large price tag, we expected more from this resort inline with what we have experienced elsewhere in asia - and we will not be returning.
