We stayed in the deluxe hotel room...
We stayed in the deluxe hotel room which was excellent and larger than most of the Villas. The accomodation was very spacious, enough for us and 2 young children. Bophut is a quieter area but there are a number of other restaurants nearby - Fisherman's Village is a little too far to walk. Although the restaurant facilities at the resort are not extensive, the prices were very reasonable. We would have stayed longer - but it was fully booked!

Both my boyfriend and I were lucky...
Both my boyfriend and I were lucky to escape the tsunami in Phi Phi and once we got to Samui after losing our accommodation in Chaweng, we were given options at the airport. I am grateful for the chance of being able to experience Palm Beach Resort. Its away from the hustle & bustle of Chaweng, its very quiet and relaxed, but close enough for a 10 min taxi ride to where the action is. The staff were very friendly and the food and service great.  We stayed in one of the Deluxe hotel rooms and it was fabulous! highly recommend one of the deluxe rooms to a bungalow (not that I stayed in the bungalow) but for what we'd just come through, to have a bath, the water running around your room and the pool out front of your room with the lovely pots of plants, it was such a comforting feeling. (not to mention cocktails in the bath).  We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back. The free internet service was terrific. Would definitely recommend to anyone who was looking for somewhere chilled with no action - but still within close distance to where the action is and for £3 by cab to Chaweng, its well worth it.. Transport is always whizzing by so you dont feel too far from anything.

We found our visit very enjoyable, from the booking all the way to departure. The atmosphere has a sort of luxury and laid back touch and there were no problems to get sunchairs even if the resort was fully booked. We stayed in a DL room with a little pool outside the terrace. Also the free internet on three stations was very helpful.Once we went to Chaweng but rushed back to the Resort very quickly. The wellkept garden with all the flowers made a nice setting. If you want to go outside for dinner (the Resort caters Bangkok Airways)there are some restaurants on the left hand side 5-7 minutes walk offering good thaifood if you do not walk to the Fishermans Village. Over all, the Samui Palm Beach Resort very recommendable and this said after 30 years of frequent travelling.

Great escape from the hussle and bussle...
Great escape from the hussle and bussle of Chaweng over looking the bay with it’s fishing boats and islands. The hotel staff are all welcoming from the reception, bellboys, restaurant and gardeners. The grounds are immaculately maintained. Amenities are limited - the main attraction are the 2 pools overlooking the beach. I had a smaller bungalow, set in the Gardens, I found the decor dated in the Garden villa's - if you have the chance, opt for a villa, or even better one of the sea view villa's. It’s also a 10-minute walk from Fisherman's Village - if you have a spare few hours, wonder along. I stayed in the busy season, over all I disappointed with the service provided, not for the efforts of the staff, but the overall value for money.

A relief to leave the Chaweng area...
A relief to leave the Chaweng area after 2 nights there and to arrive at Buphet and discover this beautiful bay with a few fishing boats and yachts decorating the scenery and a sprinkling of islands on the horizon. The hotel staff are all welcoming and helpful from the reception, bell-boys, restaurant, the maintenance staff and gardeners - always a quick and ready smile with a greeting! The grounds and amenities (which include free internet access on 2 computers) are immaculately maintained. I had a smaller (cheaper) bungalow but was delighted with it; a private little terrace with attractive cushioned rotin chairs and a coffee table gave it a pleasant approach. Attractive furnishing and decor, good options through various light fittings, and again spotlessly clean. This hotel was one of the few that offered phones in the bungalows. 2 lovely swimming pools on the edge of the beach. This was the last of my 10 weeks in Thailand staying in a comfortable 3 or 4 star range of hotels, and it was an excellent finish to my holiday.

The hotel doesn?t immediately grab from the...
The hotel doesn?t immediately grab from the unattractive façade and lobby area but the cheerful and voluminous Villas are a welcoming surprise. The facilities are limited and the main attraction is the large pool and the beach with a distant view of one of Samui?s icons - the Big Buddha. The location has nothing much to offer but during the peak season the beachfront comes alive with vendors offering activities such as water skiing, snorkeling, banana boats. Beach massage is available all year round. The compact Garden Cottages are located in the 20 year-old wing and are farthest from the beach, but they certainly don?t show their age and are still comfortable. A much better choice are the spacious Villas located halfway to the beach and painted in bright buttery yellow. Each has a large bed and room for yet another. The Beachfront Villas have the same décor as the Villas, plus the best sea views and features an outlandish Mediterranean blue bathroom with a low and semi enclosed bathtub. Given there?s not a lot of excitement in the area, it is an affordable option and excellent value for a three star
