Excellent food, staff is very friendly, great swimming pools. Nevertheless, three points to focus on : 1/ the beach facing the hotel is not really ideal for swimming (no depth), you have to walk till Chaweng Centre (15 min). 2/ if you don't stay in a junior suite, you might be disappointed by the superior rooms with bath (not very fresh decoration and furnitures). Ask for a thai style room (same as those appearing on the web site) which are at the same price and much prettier. 3/ the spa is extremly expensive compared to all other places on the island offering this kind of service.

My husband and I stayed at the Amari in Sept. 2002 for a week and found the service excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful. Lots of little thoughtful extras, i.e. flowers on the pillows at night/turning down the sheets, spraying for mozzies, hairdryer, bath and shower in our room, daily newspaper, etc....The hotel is situated in a quieter area on the northern side of Chaweng and is only a 10 min. walk to centre of Chaweng for shopping and restaurants. The breakfast buffet is excellent. We also stayed at the Amari in Phuket and the Amari Watergate in Bangkok and found them the same! A truly excellent hotel group. We will be back!

Best Buffet Breakfast. We came here for our Honeymoon in 2001 and just had to come back again this year,
Discovery dive is the best on samui and is based at the Amari. My first dive and so exciting Jason was so patient We hired a scooter and toured the Island. Best hotel and holiday ever Highly recomend it
We stayed at the Amari Palm Reef...
We stayed at the Amari Palm Reef Resort last year and had the most amazing stay. It's difficult not to have a wonderful time an amazing place like Koh Samui, but the APR Resort was a perfect base. The rooms were superb, we were allocated a family bungalow in the ‘Thai Village’ which is across a very quiet road in tropical gardens. These were fabulous rooms, we had the choice of a split level double bed or the ground floor, orchids onthe pillow every night, the rooms were sprayed every evening to rid us of any mozzies. The service was superb and the beach wonderful. Being at the quiet end of Chaweng was a bonus as you could escape from the hustle and bustle (said with tongue in cheek as to Koh Samui, hustle and bustle means nothing!!)
Anyhow... go there, its fab, we're going back in September!
