We arrived at the hotel and our reservation was not prepared. We have probably got the worst room in the hotel compound (the room had no room number) while there was plenty of empty rooms available.
The room was rather small and has not been used for some time which means: not cleaned or aired for some time. Overall the ambiente in the hotel compound is unloving as the chairs, tables and balconies are made of steel.
The staff was unfriendly. The breakfast was rather mediocre.
The only good thing is the location. The hotel is in the middle of Chaweng beach road, so very good.
Even though the location is good, I would not recommend this hotel.
this hotel looked quite nice on arrivel,then the smell hit us by the reception,i asked the staff what it was and they just smiled and kept saying sorry,sorry.the smell was the sewers,when they showed us the room it smelled of damp musty smell.the staff dont speak mutch english,or they kid you,again the pool area let it down being a little dirty,the walls are very thin and you can hear all what is goind on next door,and the electric was off all the time for hours on end.so be warned.
Nice hotel, Clean, Funky colour paint. Nice size room superior deluxe, with walk in shower and bath tub separate.. Overall i enjoyed my stay, right on the beach with nice view when walking down towards the beach no view of beach from room though but could just see the pool. Location was good..
Even though the location and swimming pool are nice, the service can not be satisfied. No smile on the staff face. No one come over to help carry the luggage when checked out.
The decoration style is kind of strange color mixture. Hard to calm down.
very nice hotel, clean, not too big, central site, very fine beach (inspite of many jet-skis nearby... too many), very good breakfast, beautiful garden, but very many moskitos; very strict control of guests, so that my wife (filipina, Thai-looking) was at first rejected many times to enter the hotel with me at nighttime; the rooms are close together, so it's not too individualistic, but very clean and proper; friendly staff.
I found the room to be very clean,comfortable and a good size.The breakfast wasn't too bad.The location of the hotel is great.However the service at the Moon walk cafe near the beach and pool isn't very good.That would be my only complaint.
We thought the service at the Baan Samui Hotel was excellent. All the staff were polite and very helpful; with organising taxi's and places to go.
The rooms were always clean and tidy.
The location on Chawang Beach was central to the shops and restraunts; but not in the "too wild" area.
The beach area was clean and tidy, and the two restaurants were of an excellent standard.
We will definately return next year!!
For what we were able to acheive for our holiday, we couldn't ask for a better location that was central to everything. From the brilliant shopping and restuarants located outside the entrance to the hotel, to the serene atmosphere of the beach at the rear. The staff certainly displayed a very high quality of customer service that is a credit to themselves and to the hotel. The room provided was very comfortable, the bathroom clean and the colour scheme of the room reflected the cheerful atmosphere that is always evident in Thailand. A nice similiar comparison from our home in Darwin.
Baan Samui is situated in a great location close to all shops, beach activies etc. The staff are helpful and friendly and the hotel offers great value for money. The rooms are spacious, clean and nicely decorated. Swimming pool is clean with plenty of space for bathing on the deck chairs for a change from the beach which is located at the rear of the hotel. Would definitely stay there again!
