Good hotel for that money but don't expect something amazing.
Beach line is very small and not clean - only the hotel territory is on the well shape. Customer service is OK, but on the last day they "forgot" to provide arranged breakfast and "found" used moscites cream in mini-bar that created a conflict situation.

We had a good time at Chaba, facilities were good for what we paid for them. The rooms are not large but adequate. Location is ok, good if you dont want to be right on Chaweng. Nice outlook from Breakfast over the beach and cove in general. 15 mins walk to chaweng.
Staff are friendly and the service overall is good.
If I returned to Koh Samui I would probably upgrade to a nicer resort further out of chaweng but good place to stay if its your first visit.

My husband and I enjoyed our 3 night stay and wished we could have stayed longer to fully enjoy the pool and its surrounds.The room and service were great and so was the breakfast. We found the 15min walk along the beach into town late afternoon very plaeasnt and the walk home later in the evening even more so.It costs 100 baht into town by tuk tuk if not using the hotel's shuttle which only goes twice a day. We hired a bike form the corner shop for 200 baht a day so accessed town whenever we liked as well as exploring the island.Would happily stay at Chaba cabana again.

Nice Hotel in a good locaion just North of the main town, and just far enough from the main hustle and bustle, very friendly staff, rooms quite nice, although bathrooms a bit tired looking ( shower good though) you can catch a taxi/bus into the centre for around 100 Baht or a 10 minute walk along the beach.
Pool area and beach are nice for lounging around.
Tip, If you are going to Bangkok the prices are a fair bit cheaper for tee -shirts etc.

We stayed here in August. Rooms are very small and bathrooms are old and tired looking. Whole resort needs a facelift. Also noise from rooms next door can be heard.
Location is O.K. if you want a quiet beach holiday. Quite a way out of Chaweng centre. Costs 100 baht to get into town.
I think there are much nicer and more centrally located hotels in Chaweng for the same price.

The beds are very firm however I think they are like that throughout most of Asia. We had problems sleeping on them. The hotel rooms are looking a bit old and bathroom curtains are mouldy. We didn't think the room was worth A$180/night however the location, restuarant and pool facilities were very good.

The location of the hotel is very good and the staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is not up to the standard of a 4*, the rooms are in need of a refurbish and it lacks amenaties e.g. no lounges and only one bar by the beach. Other 4* hotel on Chaweng Beach are far superior for the same price.
