The rooms were dark and depressing, the staff unhelpful and the location terrible. Could not wait to get out of there. Thank god we only booked 1 night.

We atayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The good thing about this hotel which is not in town centre (Chaweng Beach) is the shuttle (to and fro) service they provide every half hour to bring guests downtown.
The room is quite spacious, bathroom is clean, correct.
The most shocking negative thing we found at this hotel was the buffet breakfast. We've never seen such poor 'buffet' during our various trips to many places in Thailand so far!!! Besides the normal slices of bread with jams and margarine, there was only 1 Asian dish, (poorly prepared), some cold meats, rubbery croissants, some cereals with milk, louzy cafe (which is not the case in most hotels in Thailand). Besides the meagre spread of buffet, the dishes were not exactly well cleaned! They have also seen better days, high time the management changed them so that guests don't have to eat in cracked cups or plates?
Shuttle back to the airport cost 500B. Very pricey, for a 10-15 mins drive!
This stay at Koh Samui and at this hotel was a real disappointment.
Great hotel for people on a budget....
Great hotel for people on a budget. My room was spotless and the cleaned very well every day. The pool was great - very large. As previously mentioned - not on the beach - about one km out of town- but the free shuttle runs every half hour. The staff were all helpful, and let me check out late on the last day. Great hotel for the price - I only paid AUD40 per night and Asiarooms offered the cheapest rate by far.

The staff try very hard to make this hotel a pleasant stay, but the hotel itself is a bit away from the main tourist area. They do provide a shuttle to the top of the main drag, which then took me 45 minutes to walk just half way down, but you can get a song taew (back of a jeep-type vehicle with a roof) for 50 baht (80 odd pence). You have to provide your own transport back to the hotel.
Main disadvantage is, that it's built on the slope of a hill. I was in a lower level room and still had 5 lots of about 10 steps to my room - and the staired pathway went on and up for quite a distance. I pitied anyone coming home exhausted and having to climb that lot.
Also, buffet breakfast was a bit meagre, with (as in all the hotels I stayed at in Thailand), the bacon deep fried so that it comes out grey.

location was terrible. they do offer a shuttle bus, but it went about the distance of a 10min walk, then to a relating hotel. it just drops you off at the end of the road. no one was eating at the resturant (pricey) and if you do order room service, occasionally the order was wrong. the movie channel was dodgy dvds they had playing, which always stuffed up, (rang down to reception who said they couldn't help) and there was hours between movies unless you went down there to ask for another movie. overall, do not reccommend this hotel.

This is my second stay at Nova Resort. The location is
great as it is outside the main hub of Chaeweng. Its
nice to hear the birds singing first thing instead of
traffic. The design of the resort and the well maintained surroundings make you feel like you are
living in a beautiful garden. Not so suitable for those with mobility problems due to the hilly location. There is a courtesy bus to take guests in to Chaeweng on a regular basis. The room has a great wooden cabin feel with lovely spacious balcony. Good
air-conditioning system too. The buffet breakfast is great with plenty of choice. The main road that goes
into town is very busy and poorly lit,and though i often walked home i would advise taking a Taxi.The staff are all wonderful and pleasant and i look forward to staying there again.
