the hotel staff was nice and helpfull, some of them have problems with english, hotel is in very nice garden, rich breakfest, but we didnt like the location, there is a beach not far away but dirty water. Hotel has a small swimming pool, for children is great, because there is no deep, no wiew from there( i guess picture was done when trees were small). Food is good there, but if you like real thai you have to go outside.

The resort was lovely and although some area's were still under construction the room was quite sound proof and we didn't have any issues with noise. The staff were extreamely helpful and kind. Our bed was as hard as a rock but the staff were very obliging when we asked if anything could be done to make it a bit softer. Breakfast was really good and the resturant has great food. It's a very cute boutique resort.

The Pavillion is well located on the beach front, yet just far enough from the bars & shops of Lamai to have a peacefull feeling. Our room was well appointed, the service was good and the spa treatments were very enjoyable. There is still some construction work being carried out - but this did not really affect the enjoyment of our stay.

I will preface this review by saying...
I will preface this review by saying this is the third time I have stayed at the Pavilion in Lamai, although I have seen and stayed at other places on Samui. I keep going back because it would be incredibly hard to beat for a great time and value for money. The rooms are a good size and have all the mod con's and are very clean, especially all the new ones that have been built and updated. The staff are exceptional, they do everything they possibly can to make sure you are happy and well looked after and always seem very happy working there. Facilities are great, from the pool to the excellent Patio restaurant and is perfectly located both right on the beach and recessed in at the quiet end of Lamai main road means you get to enjoy peace and quiet and can be in the middle of shops and nightlife in under a 5 minute walk. I will be heading back here again in 2007 when I am in the region.

We were staying at the above hotel...
We were staying at the above hotel in November06 during our honeymoon. There were no champagne offer in the room plus we experenced the followings; 1. There was someone rang our room after we checked in and told me to move the champagne from room....to our room (228) and I told him that I am a guest not housekeeping and he hang up. 2. During our stay, someone at the front desk rang our room and ask my husband to go to the front desk and that was a mistake by the staff that they suppose to see someone else not us. There was no apologize letter or anything. We found that two of above events were not acceptable. Also the staffs at the beach front were not helpful at all, we had to set our own unbrella and beds at the pool ourselves.

After travelling for 4 weeks in Hong...
After travelling for 4 weeks in Hong Kong and Australia, we wanted to have 5 days relaxing in our favourite place - Koh Sumui. WE normally stay in Chewang, however it is getting a little built up so we opted for the above hotel. On arrival we were told that there was building work going on - which we knew absolutely nothing about - it was not mentioned on their website or asiarooms.com. We were given an upgrade to a junior suite which would have been lovely apart from the hoarding which screened the building work blocked out all of the light into the bedroom, there was also no jacuzzi in the room which was why we had booked our original room. We went to ask to be moved because of the building work and were told that because we had booked through a third party it was not their responsibility, working in hotels myself, this was not acceptable. We eventually managed, 4 hours later to get the room that we had originally booked. This room was great, and I discounted the dirty glass in the mini bar and the fact that we were told that the building work started at 9am although it was actually 8.15am - at least we got to breakfast in time!!!!! The final straw was after two days there was no hot water - when I went to mention this, I asked to speak to a manager - I am still waiting!! The receptionist explained that it was due to the storm, which happened that day. Although there was no water the previous day!!!- Strange. I had to keep pushing for an answer and they eventually offered us dinner and massage for two as compensation - this really wasn't what I wanted - I only wanted hot water and for someone to accept responsibility for the fact that their was no notification of the building work. We were eventually shown a beautiful villa with our own pool with HOT WATER - couldn't quite understand how the storm handn't effected the heat of that water supply! The villa did make up for the inconvenience of the first 3 days and we were asked to sign a letter to say that we were happy with the compensation that we received. The hotel itself is lovely but there is not one member of the team who would accept responsibility for our situation and not one who apologised.

Have stayed here a couple of times...
Have stayed here a couple of times before since 2003 and staying there for a third time in 2007. Have stayed in different types of rooms and they have always been clean, high quality and everything works. Staff are great and extreamly friendly and very helpful. Is a quiet place during the day and evening and is less than 3 minute walk to restaraunts, bars and nightlife. Great place for couples, good food and drinks (reasonable prices). Asiarooms found me the best prices by far, which I knew of them for last several trips through SE Asia.

Plus points:- 1.This is the best hotel on Lamai beach (however, it is probably only a 3 star hotel by international standards) 2.Lamai is probably the best major beach I've seen (better than Chaweng and other major beaches in Bali and Phuket) - sand is nice and sea is clear enough to see the seabed even in chest-high waters, also waves are very gentle (we were there in August) 3.Decent food with reasonable prices at the hotel cafe and restaurant Negatives:- 1.Mixture of older and newer rooms/bungalows, the older rooms are tired & need a major makeover. 2.Poor layout in the spa rooms as aircon blows directly on bed. 3.Not the hotel's fault - but every night around midnight, there are fireworks from parties on surrounding areas which are extremely loud (so families with kids need to be aware) 4.Staff are not the most friendly

hotel is a good 3* if you get one of the new refurbished rooms. make sure you get one of the rooms that is displayed on the web site and not one of the old rooms at the same price. hotel staff were very good, and it's a great location.

Having just held my wedding at the Pavilion I must say what wonderful service we had and what huge effort the hotel staff went to to make our day perfrect. We stayed in a Junior Spa room and had a lovely room with loads of space. The location is right on the beach and the pool is lovely. Food in the restaurant is exquisite. A great time was had by all.
