The staff were extremely friendly and the resort looked lovely. It is in a good location, only 5 minutes walk from the centre of Lamai town so it is quite quiet. However, we weren't told that the resort had building work still to be done so we were subjected to drilling and banging while sunbathing at the pool. The room was lovely but the air conditioning leaked twice, the spa bath didn't work and our toilet flooded three times. The staff didn't always fix these things immediately. There were just too many things faulty for me to return to the Pavilion.

The best hotel on Lamai beach by...
The best hotel on Lamai beach by a long long way. The hotel is 4 star not 3. It has fab restaurant, rooms are clean, staff kind. Away from  the jungle of chaweng which seemed crazy and chaotic. Pool is a bit 3 star (but like most that i saw in samui). superior spa rooms with balcony def worth the money. Lamai is a bit dead so you often have 2 go to chaweng for 'night' life. All in all, as we drove round, we quickly realized that this was a great resort. Oh spa is a bit 'basic' and thus expensive for what it is...

This is an absolutely stunning resort, it has all the trimmings including wonderfully helpful staff that are constantly smiling. It is definately a must if you are going to Koh samui... I have already reccommended it to all our friends.

One of the worst vacation experience that...
One of the worst vacation experience that I had in Thailand.  The front desk manager actually said after my verbal complains, "I don't care, this is not my hotel!"  IT SUMS it all that the staff is generally don't put great care to guests personal needs especially when the hotel failed to arrange the hotel car for me on time when I needed to depart on time on 5 Aug early morning even though advance reservation was made.  Neither apology nor solution was offered when I faced with the hotel taxi no show problem and I was asked to suggest them a solution instead.  The lack of urgency was appalling and if anyone would like a pleasant stay I would strongly recommend not staying at this facility.

The renovations certainly did a wonderful job...
The renovations certainly did a wonderful job to give the resort a more updated look and stand out compared to the other characterless hotels on the same street. The newly renovated Suites rooms have the most stylish and contemporary look and offer excellent value for money given the inroom facilities. The Superior Cottages have not been refurbished and the natural materials used retain an old rustic charm but rooms are a little dark compared to the newer and more airy Deluxe rooms. The location is sufficiently removed to offer some peace and the village outside is lively and has more bars than anything else. Although the resort does not offer any transport local taxis are easily sighted. The restaurant serves good food and is inexpensive but the venue like the other facilities are pocket size. Service is friendly and the resort has a casual ambiance. Definitely an above average 3 star property
