The hotel is rather unusual in that the reception area only, is at the front of the hotel and then you walk through the grounds to the bungalows, where your bedrooms and bathrooms are located. At the end of the grounds is the pool, dining area and of course the beach. An unusual setting, but it worked!
The grounds are very picturesque and are maintained on a daily basis.
The bungalows were lovely, basic but for the price excellent value! They have almost everything that you need (although we could have done with a cupboard or shelves instead of the unit housing a number of pots)! Both the bedroom and the bathroom are a decent size and the maid service was excellent - just put the sign out when you want the room cleaned and it's done by the time you get back.
Initially we were disappointed as we had specifically asked for two single beds (a friend of mine had physically called in about 6 weeks beforehand and the hotel had confirmed the requirement). However, after a bit of re-organisation, they eventually came up with our request and it saved us having to move the next day, (as we had arrived in the evening).
We were also disappointed to note that building and maintenance work was still being carried out, despite the fact that these were supposed to have been completed some time ago. We were fortunate that we weren't located in amongst the building work, which was started very early in the morning!
We did have a problem with the air conditioning during our stay and within a few minutes of phoning through, someone was with me. Although they didn't speak english, they understood what was wrong and I left them to it. We came back a few hours later and all was in working condition. Excellent service!
We felt that the hotel was just a little bit out of the way from the village and would have liked to have been a bit closer. However, there appeared to be a taxi rank outside the hotel, although nothing official.
The only other point worth mentioning is that the hotel could do with getting another sign, the one that they have at the moment is hand made and very difficult to see at night time as it is located near the ground.
