I enjoyed staying in this hotel, however,...
I enjoyed staying in this hotel, however, only 5 % of the rooms were booked. If it is fully booked, i am not sure, whether i would stay there. And due to its location it is recommended to have a motorcycle or car, although the hotel offes regular shuttle to Lamai.

We stayed 4 nights at the hotel...
We stayed 4 nights at the hotel and was given a high floor,sea veiw room which I have requested via email before I check in. The room was in fact with a nice sea view and it was spacious. There are 2 main swimming pools and the one facing the sea is cleaner than the one at the building. You can see algae in it. Breakfast is the same every day, toast bread, cold muffin and disappointed that there is no local dishes. The hotel do provide free shuttle service to Laimai beach and the last trip pick up from Laimai is 10pm. However was disappointed that they charged 50% for entrance fees to the Zoo & Aquarium. I was told by a friend who stays here before that it was free of charge previously.

Poor Resort's front entrance.Staffs were helpful.Resort's environment & beaches were large & quiet.Two big attractive pools. Many different animals to see such as elephants, giant tigers, monkeys, parrots,horses...etc.So, good for families including chirldren. Clean,tidy,spacious bungalows.Staffs making up bungalows efficiently.Less selection on breakfast. Free shuttle from & to resort. Budget price with good surprise accomodation.

I must admit that when I first...
I must admit that when I first booked the room I had no idea what to expect and then when I arrived, I was absolutely blown away. The location was what we see on all the brochures. This is definitely a hotel and location to revisit many times into the future. One of the bonuses of staying here, while it's a peaceful location and far removed from the crowds, they do offer a shuttle service into the nearby night spot where you can do the tourist part before returning to the peace and quiet of the Samui Orchid Resort.

Samui Orchid Resort is a perfect place...
Samui Orchid Resort is a perfect place for a peaceful rest at Samui. It is also ideal for families with children since the pool areas are rather shallow and there is lots of different animals (monkeys etc), in cages, in the garden. The personnel is helpful and nice. The hotel is a bit off the beaten track so either one must depend on the shuttle service or rent a bike/jeep. The good thing about this is that it´s really quiet around. The hotel is also beautifully situated right on the beach. The package gives good value for the Money!

The orchid resort is located in a...
The orchid resort is located in a beautiful setting with your own beach. It is out of town but they provide free shuttle services into lamai. Not much choice on restaurant or drinks around there and the staff were slightly drunk when they served us a number of times. What brought this beautiful place down was the staff service- they seemed very untrusting and almost conveniently lost our motorbike when checking out! A good place to stay to relax for a couple of days as it is quiet and right on the water. The pools were also nice!

They serve a pathetic breakfast! Our request for a second plate of omelette (since the choices available are so limited) was rejected! Poor service! Bad & inconvenience location! No beautiful beach! Zoo & Acquarium sounded nice but disappointing when you go in! They are not well kept & maintained, especially the tiger zoo that stink to high heaven! Will definitely not pay the resort a re-visit again!

We stayed for 3 nights at Samui...
We stayed for 3 nights at Samui Orchid hotel - in a budget room with king size bed. The room was beautiful, big and clean. The pool 5 meters from our room was clean and very nice. The beach was very good for familys with children. Adult have to walk a long way out ind the water, before they could swim. But then there was 2 nice pools - so it didn't matter so much. Very god aquarium and tigerzoo, with a good show. Nice with the shuttle bus to Lamai. The only complaint we have was the staff in the reception. They didn't speak wery good english, they were not very friendly and helpfully - and took high prices for helping us with booking a taxi.

*Good -Remote -Free animal show *Bad -There is a public road...
*Good -Remote -Free animal show *Bad -There is a public road right in front of your room for anyone in Samui to come and access a Kiteboarding service that is right beside the hotel. So you feel like you are back in Bangkok rather than on a beach sometimes. -Breakfast was ridiculously bad. They completely run out of food if you go to the breakfast after 9. -They have a way over priced Internet service. -There is loud music every single day for their animal show.
