while the staff were helpful and friendly, the room hadn't been cleaned properly, and the property is quite a long walk from the main drag. that would be fine if i felt i was going back to a nice place, but it wasn't!! it felt grubby and seedy. plus the room was advertised as wifi in rooms. not so - only in reception. overall, while it served a purpose, the whole place felt grotty, old and tired - which in turn made me feel a bit uneasy as a single female traveller. perhaps unjustly! fortunately i only booked 1 night, so then found a super nice place, central for half the price (khun chaweng resort).
It was good value for money- clean and I liked the location. The beach was beautiful and although it was not in the heart of the shops etc it was not too far to walk and there are lots of taxis. I was in a superior room- it was nice but had no natural light. On the last day I discovered for the same price I could have switched rooms to accross the hall and that would have been perfect (air con was fine, no fan, lights were flourecent). Nice pool.
All in all the hotel was perfect. We booked a standard 1 room. It was ok, however in front of our windows there were a lot of aggrigates for the airconditons and so it was a little bit loud in the night. The beach was perfect and the location was ok too.
Overall my room served it's purpose. It is in a quieter part of Chaweng, which was great as I landed on Koh Samui during Songkran! The curtains did allow too much light through. A friend stayed at First residence and I thought had a nicer room for a cheaper rate (though no brekky). Service was excellent, as I was a bit flustered when I arrived. Supplied brekky great!
Close to beach, not far from shops and clean serviceable room!

Unfortunately, for me personally, the hotel left a lot to be desired. It was located too far away from the main Chaweng Beach, seemed very old, the bathroom was dark and dingy, the staff didn't speak any English and the breakfast was very disappointing. Probably well suited to budget travelers but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who wants to be near to the hustle and bustle of Chaweng Beach.
