We spent 5 night in the Nora...
We spent 5 night in the Nora Beach resort (May 1st to May 6th 2005). When we arrived we found out that the "NORA VILA" that we booked, was booked for us for three only nights. The lady (that I don't remember her name) offered us two options for the first two nights: 1. get a cheaper room in the hotel.  2. get a better room in a different hotel. For both options she gave us two nights dinner and 15% off hotel facilities. We chose the first option offered to us. I think that the hotel made a better deal then us in this case, since dinner does'nt worth as much as the difference between the rooms. For the last three nights we got the VILLA that was out of this world. The employees are very nice and always happy to assist. I recomend this hotel with all my heart.

We spent 6 nights at the Nora...
We spent 6 nights at the Nora Beach Hotel, and I would recommend anyone visiting Koh Samoi to stay here.  The staff are very friendly and always helpful.  The location is ideal as it far from the main Chaweng busy area but a short drive away if you do want to experience the busier side.  I would definatly stay here again

We stayed in a Superior room at...
We stayed in a Superior room at Nora Beach during March 2005 for a week. All the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel is ideal: close to the airport but we heard no noise from the airport and only a short taxi ride from Chaweng Beach costing no more than 100bt pp. Our room was huge, the bed was enormous, and we had a balcony (2nd floor) which overlooked the lodge rooms, although they were barely visable due to the extensive tree cover. The hotel reception is spectacular, with a superb infinity pool which was a waterfall cascading between the lodge rooms. There is a cocktail bar here that has a live musical group each evening. It was a little quiet, but relaxing. The restaurant served a variety of cuisine and had a number of speciality nights. The meals were more expensive then in Chaweng but you would expect that in a hotel. The food was excellent and plentiful ( a self service buffet) We had a range of Lobster, prawns, red snapper, green curry, red, curry, jasmine rice, any variety of meat from the grill, a huge variety of salads and vegetables. But all really good. We tried the pool one day but there were a number of children which was off putting. The pool is lovely and spotlessly clean as iis the whole hotel and grounds. The beach was a little dissaappointing as it was very rocky and small. However a short walk (100yds) to the right and the beach is fantastic. All in all this hotel is well worth the money from a luxury feel. It is quiet and well planned, although because it is build on the the side of a hill, some may find a little hard work in the heat. I would definately go back and recommend it highly to all my friends and family Thankyou for a wonderful week of luxory Nora Beach

we spent three weeks in Thailand between...
we spent three weeks in Thailand between Bangkok, Pattaya and Koh Samui and Nora Beach Resort was, by far, the best hotel we stayed in.  In fact, it is one of the best resorts that we have ever stayed in which includes Hawaii and Caribbean.  We had a Nora Villa and it was beautiful:  the biggest bed we had ever used, the ensuite bathroom is the largest bathroom, and the amenities were complete.  The bathroom was beautifully designed with the bathtub next to a glass wall that overlooked the atrium that housed the outdoor shower and the tub is extra large with a built in pillow.  The indoor shower has skylights.  The wardrobe in the bath could use a few more shelves.  The gardens with the stream flowing thru them down to the pool are gorgeous.  You never saw a dead flower or any on the ground as the flower beds were swept every morning.  The pool was huge and sits right on the ocean as does the restaurant for the morning buffet breakfast, which was bountiful.  Pool has wooden deck all around with sunken pool bar, jacuzzi and children's pool attached.  I would definitely return to this resort and would book a Seaview Villa.  The beach is not wide and the first few meters of water are rocky bottom.  There is an island that can be easily walked to from the Nora Beach so the water is not deep.  We can't wait to return.
