Mu husband & I stayed in the Sala Samui Feb. 2005, we had a wonderful time, everything was perfect, the rooms fantastic, food was superb, 1st class, location was perfect & the staff were wonderfull, they were extremely freindly & helpful. The hotel is positioned onto a great beach, there are a few lovely beach bars serving excellent Sea food in the evenings. We were there for our 1st wedding anniverary last year & have re-booked for this year, can't wait.

My boyfriend and I have recently returned...
My boyfriend and I have recently returned from a 2 week holiday in Thailand. We stayed in a Sala Pool Villa for 3 nights before moving on to Koh Phangan and Koh Tao. We loved the hotel that much that we booked to continue our stay for a further 3 nights before flying back home. The weather was the worst it had been for over 20 years and constantly rained during our holiday, however this made no difference at all to how great our holiday was. The food in the restuarant was excellent and the location was on a nice, quiet and clean beach. The outstanding feature of this hotel is the amazing staff, and I would certainly recommend this hotel based on that alone. Not only were the staff extremley freindly but they had exemplary customer service skills and could not do enough for you. I will certainly be returning to this hotel in the future - In fact, I wish I was back there now!!!!

We stayed at Sala Samui 5 nights...
We stayed at Sala Samui 5 nights from 7-12 October, 2005. I was very happy with most aspects of our stay. No problems checking in or out. It all went like clockwork despite the fact that we arrived 2 hours early and the hotel being booked out. Our Sala Pool Villa was very clean and just like the photos. The outdoor bathroom and the rain shower in particular made it different to most other hotels we've stayed at. There was no problem with creepy crawlies in the bathroom, which I must admit, had been an ititial concern of mine. It was quite warm, being outdoors, but not uncomfortable. The private pool of course was the icing on the cake and used often (even at 2am when I couldn't sleep, so I floated peacefully in the pool, gazing at the stars - better than any sleeping pill!). The staff are outstanding - well trained and yet perfectly natural. Before arriving at Sala Samui we'd already spent 5 nights at the 5* Santiburi Resort and Sala's staff just outshone them. Sala Samui's restaurant, while lacking a little in ambience, has excellent food, a great selection of international wines and is pretty good value for money.  Service staff here are second to none! Our only negative experience was with the airconditioning. It's incredibly loud at night and a problem they admitted has been raised by guests many times before. They are trying to get the company that installed the system to rectify it, but until that happens, I would not go again. Otherwise, I'd gladly recommend it to anyone. Oh, and it wouldn't hurt if the sheer curtains used to enclose the bathroom area were replaced. Despite the hotel being so new, ours were already quite mouldstained due to the high humidity and badly torn too. (But that in itself should not stop anyone from staying at this excellent small hotel).<

My husband and I enjoyed our honeymoon...
My husband and I enjoyed our honeymoon in the Sala Samui in September 2005. The resort was magnificant, rooms exceeded expectations and the setting could not have been more perfect. The Sala restaurant was simply one of the best on the island. The food was exquisite, and the restaurant was right overlooking the beach, incredibly romantic. The best thing about staying at the Sala Sumui however was it's staff. From the moment we arrived the team at the Sala Sumui did absolutely everything they could to make our stay as special as possible. Every member of staff was helpful, polite and knowledgeable - only to eager to go the extra mile for you. In short, we cannot wait to return to the Sala Sumui.

Fabalous hotel. Small. only 61 rooms. Stayed in the garden salas with a pool and should have stayed in the ocean villas. Very self contained facility. Restaurant is first rate for lunch and dinner but breakfast is a bit repetitive. Spoke to the Resident mananger and the GM and they tell us the chef has changed and the menu will shortly. Good value on meals and facility. Some noisy construction going on just outside the facility( Sept '05) and it required a room change which the Aussie RM happily provided. Staff is very friendly but a tad inefficient. Facility open less than a year but well run and staff still learning. Multiple restaurants right on the ajacent beach. About a 10 minute ride ($6) to downtown area. While individual sala pool was wonderful, the 2 main pools were also lovely. Cliental when we were there largely Brits and Germans with only 3 rooms with Americans. Fair number of families with kids and also what appeared to be honeymooners. Quite young cliental.   We spent 5 days but easily could have spent more. Absolutely will go back.

Sala Samui Resort & Spa was beautiful; nicely done up rooms, much efforts to do up the gardens, ever so friendly staff a true example of reknown Thai hospitality. The only blemish of an otherwise excellent short getaway was the food over dinner. Dishes came different than what was described in the menu e.g. a rucola salad became a spinach salad, although well presented, it was however a touch stale and cold.
