I have been coming here since 1997...
I have been coming here since 1997 when it was a small place with just bungalows. It now has a very nice hotel as well as bungalows, staff and owners are great always looked after myself and my wife close enough to be far enough away from the main hub of chaweng. GREAT GREAT will always go back here..

This is undoubtedly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Whilst it was not expensive, I decided to stay in the superior bungalow expecting to get a little better room. Well the TV did not work, even after 5 days of complaining, ants crawling around, getting woke up at 6am in the morning with workers cleaning out mop buckets. I used 1 bottle of water and was charged for 4 bottles, as it was never replaced after the first time. My suggestion DO NOT GO HERE. Phil

When we arrived there was a mix...
When we arrived there was a mix up with our booking and instead of being co-operative we found reception staff rude and unhelpful. This made us feel very uncomfortable, as it was ongoing throughout the whole of our stay. The only good thing about our stay was the hotel room and that was only value for money because we booked over the net with Asia rooms. We refused to book an extra nights stay at the actual hotel because it was so much more expensive and the facilities were not worth it. The pool does not look clean and is small, considering the size of the hotel. Breakfast is very basic and we didn't feel comfortable eating it because none of the food is covered and there were many flies around. The location is good if you want a quiet holiday but although it is on the beach, it is not on a nice part of the beach and you have to walk a good 20 minutes along the beach to reach a nice part. It is cheap to get into town of an eve, costing 200 baht for a taxi or 50 baht per person for a tuk tuk. I would never stay at this hotel again and I would never recommend it to a friend

I agree with most of the reviews...
I agree with most of the reviews posted. The place offered to me when I arrived was worst I had seen in Samui. When I upgraded I got a nice room (at a cost). And , magically , the service also improved( mind you , it could not have got much worse!!) Some food at breakfast ok(limited choice). Beach not nice, pool ok. Prefer anywhere else Regards Craig

We stayed at the Samui Island Resort,...
We stayed at the Samui Island Resort, Chaweng, Koh Samui for two nights in October 2006. The resort itself is located out of the way so necessitates a need for taxis to get you to the main strip (the lack of footways makes it unsafe to walk). The pool is tiny and looked dirty. Breakfast on the first day was covered in flies and on the second day we found an ant trail accross the bread shute on the toasting machine. The staff were generally very friendly however when we reported problems they suddenly didn't understand! Their English had been particulary good until that point. The manager was particularly unhelpful and rude. We booked a bungalow and were extremely dissapointed with the accommodation provided. Because of various problems including building works in the adjacent bungalow (which commenced with drilling and sawing at 700am and a mosquito infestation we had the privilege of having three different bungalows over two nights. Whilst the resort itself (which includes the bungalows) is advertised as three star I would be surprised if the bungalow(s) that we stayed in managed to achieve 1 star. The beach huts further along the bay advertised at 500 Baht or less per day actually seemed much nicer (and also located in a much better area). In short the bungalows are small, dark, extremely dated, smell foisty, are poorly decorated and furnished. The bathrooms are disgusting (our seciond bungalow had brown water coming out of the tap). This particular bungalow was also infested with mosquitos (we killed over 20 and then gave up, requesting a further room change). An attempt to prevent mosquitos accessing the rooms has been made by covering the windows with a metal mesh. However this made the bungalows dark and feel more like a prison. The 2cm gap above the front door of this bungalow probably didn't actually help the mosquito situation. To top it off, the manager then actually had the cheek of acusing us of leaving the door open which had let the mosquitos in. All in all an apalling resort. We'd strongly recommend that you stay away.

Samui Island Beach Resort and Hotel is...
Samui Island Beach Resort and Hotel is ok if you know what you're looking for. I booked a bungalow which was very small, and not well decorated at all, but I guess that's what I got for the price. I couldn't stay there, it was too small and drab, even for the price, so I had to upgrade to a nice room, and that was fine. There service was fine, and they always had a smile. The pool was nice to have, even though you were a few steps away from the beach. The actual location of the hotel wasn't that great because the happening area (around Green Mango) was too far to walk to. Me and my friends had to keep using a tax to get there, and they tried to take advantage of that distance. I am in my twenties, and was looking to party, dance, and still have an nice beach location. Something not that getto. If your more family oriented I would recommend the hotel. I met a small family that loved the hotel. I would probably not stay there again, because I want to be closer to the action.

We were very disapointed with this hotel....
We were very disapointed with this hotel. It was described as a 3 star hotel and I think the new rooms may well be 3 star but our rooms were not. We had two rooms booked one for us and one for our two daughters. The location of the hotel is poor being at the very Northern end of the the beach. The beach is not suitable for swiming except at high tide but even then the bottom is very hard on the feet. The rooms that were inflicted on us were small, dirty, noisy, poorly lit and very old. ONly one light bulb eliminates the entire room. There is very little space. HOt water sometimes and althout a TV it only worked for one day out of three. The manager was not helpfull. Dont bother there are so many other nice places to stay at Samui.
