The overall experience was good generally because of the location a nice walk onto the beach, rooms are small but they met our needs and are value for the money that you pay.Service at the front counter was a bit abrupt as if we were imposing on their time.The Breakfast at the restaurant which was inclusive was nothing to write home about, the coffee was warm, the bacon cooked at 5am and then left there until when you arrived the same with the potato, the maintenance of the heat in the food trays was non existent.
Other great eateries within metres and shopping up the lane. Yes good overall.

Basically, Al-Hut provided an accommodation that allows close proximity to the heart of Chaweng town / beach. The resort offered clean and basic stay whilst I do have to comment that the mosquitos in the area are at large and that there were maggots falling down from the bathroom ceiling. The management should offer alternative solution to get rid of these pests instead just offering (a chargeable) insect repellent. Otherwise, Al-Hut is the preferred resort for a week-long stay.

I booked this hotel as it is...
I booked this hotel as it is in the centre of the happenings. Do not expect a modern room. Its clean as much as it can, however, the ants and coakroaches are finding the way. The cottage door was nearly broken, I did not had any water at the beginning in the room and the WIFI you have to pay for did not work at all. The only comment from the receptionist was: Its not a big city, s I can not expect too much!
Well, as I am working in this industry, that was a truly shock, but I just toke it as a good experience of how NOT to treat guests. The beach is beautiful and the location is perfect to go in the nightlife, or just jump into the beautiful water.
I wish to take over a place like that, because the location is perfect, it just need someone who would take good care and invest a few dollars to bring back this place to a 2009 standard and training the staff to appreciate paying guests.. as much as you can!

Great stay, and outstanding location for people...
Great stay, and outstanding location for people looking to party. Countless nightlife spots within crawling and stumbling distance. It is very commercialized around the hotel, so if you want 20 steps to a starbucks, internet cafe, then a burger king, come on down. But if you want to feel like you're in Thailand, not Miami Beach or Cancun, look into Koh Phangnan or Koh Tao. We totally enjoyed our 2 nights here and partied our butts off. Dont let the room size worry you too much. It was me and another dude and it wasn't too bad. Adequate for sleeping, and putting your stuff away, wasn't a huge problem for us. Good breakfast too!
