Stay at Koh Samui
Need to be aware that this hotel is way off the beaten track and that the hire of a vehicle is necessary to get out and about the island. There are no local restaurants nearby or shops but if you are happy to just laze by the pool or on the beach (unfortunately though a lot of rubbish is washed up onto the beach which was not cleared away every day which made sunbathing on the beach out of the question, when the beach was cleaned then it was quite acceptable except the water is a murky colour and not clear like in the brochure!)then this is the hotel for you but if you want to get out for a walk then you need to hire a vehicle.
Nearby town of Chaweng is shoulder to shoulder with sunbeds and tourists so unless you are on a boozy holiday stay away. The best part was up north at Bo Phut where there were some pretty coves and beaches (although rubbish was still being washed up on to the beaches. Personally I wouldn't return to Koh Samui.

Overall is was a pleasant stay. Main...
Overall is was a pleasant stay. Main concern is that the place was at the southern end of the island meaning that it is the furtherest place from anywhere, we got around this by renting a scooter from a local shop for 200 baht/day (hotel charges 400 baht/day). If you are planning on catching taxis this isn't the place for you. Airport to this resort is 1200baht/person but if you email resort before hand you can get it for 1800 baht/person return. The only other two main concerns with the resort was that it doesnt have steady hot water for the shower it keeps going from hot to cold, very annoying, and the air-cond is quite noisy. Both swimming pools are very nice and your right on the beach. Restaurant is a bit expensive and meal sizes small but that is expected from the resorts. Breakfast is included and is quite good for a small resort. DVD rental is also free. Dining area has no air-cond only fans. There is a free shuttle service 3 times a week to the other beaches which is nice.

We have been to Koi Samui...
We have been to Koi Samui on a number of occasions and stayed in Chaweng which has got progressively noisier and expensive. Although the villa resort is remote it does offer a free shuttle service to three of the island tourist centres each week. We loved the location as you dont get to hear the continuous loudspeaker advertising from cars and boats you get in Chaweng or continually harrassed by hawkers on the beach. The food was very good and not that expensive, the service can be slow if you go during a busy period but all the staff are extremely helpfull.

The hotel look realy nice. The staff speaks good english, and very friendly. My only problem was that is far from everything. You have to rent a scooter if you want to leave the hotel. They will charge you 2x more than anywhere else (300 baht/day). This place is perfect for couples, but if you want to party than book a hotel in Lamai beach or Chaweng.

Had my room upgraded downstairs to poolside....
Had my room upgraded downstairs to poolside. Originally planned on staying 6 days and extended 7 more. Beautiful setting, great staff, wonderful breakfast and fine dinner menu. Clean large bathroom with tub and separate shower. Received extra towels for the baby. Extra fast service here. Only draw backs are they are very isolated, 30 Klicks from the airport, which is kinda a plus but needed to rent a car for the stay and the ocean is only waist deep and no surf.

We really enjoyed our stay at Coconut...
We really enjoyed our stay at Coconut Villa. It is a new hotel so it is expected that it'll be quiet but we like it that way. We also like the fact that it is not too close to the bars and other night life. We think the pool running adjacent to the rooms is a fantastic concept. We suggest, though, that the deck chairs be replaced with sun beds. The service is excellent. We hope that this will continue. We contemplated taking the villa but there is not really a great difference in space in fact we thought that the rooms with pool view are much better as you can jump into the pool directly from your verandah. Definitely value for money. Excellent breakfast! We noted that when we arrived at the villa at 11pm that they were not expecting us. We do not know if they didn't receive the confirmation from AsiaRooms or if there was an internal misunderstanding. Perhaps, this is something which can be improved. We are looking forward to staying at the Coconut Villa again next year.

I really enjoyed staying at Coconut Villa...
I really enjoyed staying at Coconut Villa (deluxe sea view villa - actually you can see sea only from bathroom). Very polite and friendly staff, beautiful room and pools. But one big disadvantage - you can't swim in the sea. You can just only walk, even 20-30 meters, and the water level will be at your knees. 40 meters -that's the limit, because then begins coral line. There is few islands not far from our beach. You can sail there by boat for 1200 baht. Beautiful islands with pure white sand and clear water. Perfect for taking sunbath and relaxation. Also there is no any restaraunts nearby. You can rent a motorbike or car and go to Lamai beach or Chaweng. There's a lot of restaraunts. The Coconut Villa is perfect for couples or honeymooners.

The hotel is in a beautiful quiet...
The hotel is in a beautiful quiet location with a superb beach views and sea breezes.Would suit a relaxing get away from it all holiday for adults. The location means that it is a fairish walk to the nearest restaurant in Thong Krut and a long way from shopping. If you want to see the rest of the island you would need to hire a bike /car as taxis are expensive. However the food at the hotel is excellent(hotel prices )breakfast was freshly cooked ,the best we had had on our 3 week Thai tour. The staff are extremely attentive, friendly and polite. Our room which overlooked the long 70m pool (great for a swim on rising!)was clean ,fresh and well furnished .If I had had small children with me I would be anxious about the water right outside the bedroom window. As the hotel was undergoing renovation when we stayed the spa and main entrance were not open, these will add to the ambience and facilities .In fact a few more guests would have added to the atmosphere! Overall as we were looking for a relaxing stay the hotel ideally suited our needs and Richard and his staff worked very hard to make us feel welcome.I would stay again.
