We were a little disappointed with the location of the hotel. If you want to go to stay in a 5* resort and not leave for a week then it may meet your expectations. The beach is very small and there are no other beach bars (except for the small restaurant in the bungalows next door) so no typical Thai beach atmosphere is evident. The nearest area for shops in a 40 minute round trip walk so you are a bit stranded unless you want to pay for a over priced taxi (more expensive than UK!). The room and staff were very nice but there is not a lot to do at the hotel and it lacks an atmosphere. We paid £200 per night for a standard room - way overpriced. Stayed at other 5* hotels in Thailand that were significantly cheaper and in a better location and atmosphere.
Staff were very friendly and the room was absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately it rained for the first two days of our holiday but because the room was so relaxing it really wasn't that bad. The only downside was the buffet hot breakfast was always cold but a good selection, the dinner was traditional Thai which was good quality.
