Not what it looked like.
The photos on the Mimosa website paint a wonderful picture of the hotel, but in real life it does not look as good. The floors and walls in the bathroom are unpainted concrete, and the whole room had that smell of damp dirt that unsealed concrete can get (though I couldn't honestly tell you if it was sealed or not). The pool was tiny, and the beach not a good one at all. The 'Holy Court', 'Mountain View Corner' and 'Laguna Terrace' are just the daily offering, and a view from the balcony over a swamp. The location was very isolated from everywhere, a taxi to fisherman's village costing about 400 Baht, 20 minutes away, and to Chaweng between 500 and 600 Baht, 30 minutes away. I have stayed in much better places in Chaweng for much less than then price we paid.
On the other hand, the food was fantastic, and the staff very helpful and nice.
