"My friends and I stayed at the..."
My friends and I stayed at the Cabana Grand View in April 2006 - we loved it!
The hotel is newly ish built and clean and spacious and has been decorated brilliantly with traditional Thai decor. The pool on the 6th floor is gorgeous and has fantastic views of the bay and the surrounding hills.
Staff were out of this world - they are so friendly and helpful and made our stay even more special.
The only downside is that it is a little way out of the main 'strip' and the beach and up a hill (so may not be so great for families with young children) but the hotel offers a free shuttle to the beach in the day and a very cheap taxi service into town at night - which we thought was a great touch but in the same token staying that very little way out of town (you can walk it in less than 15 mins) meant peace and quiet in the day and away from the 'Buzz' of the bars at night if you wanted to be.
All in all we loved it and didn't want to leave and defo want to go back again!!!

"I visited Samui for 5 days from..."
I visited Samui for 5 days from June 26 to June 30, this is my first time to Samui. When I arrived, I found this hotel quite small than I expected, rooms are clean but
less place within the hotel to go around. The negative is the sound from the nightclub that disturbing our sleep. But all these can be balanced by the friendly and helpful crew that always there to help and the most thing that surprised me is the Spa, it's so nice that more than I can express. To be honest, I would choose a hotel with a beachfront when I visit Samui again. One more thing is, if you like snorkeling, go to the Koh Tao but not the Koh Tan and don't forget the elephant riding. Have a nice trip.

"Our stay at the Cabana Grand View..."
Our stay at the Cabana Grand View was great, the rooms were lovely and the staff were always there to help (if needed) we stayed over the New Year and the Gala Dinner was superb,
the only drawback that we would say for us was that because it was on a hill it made it necessary to travel to the beach and town, athough they do have a curtesy bus which helps, we did have lovely views across the area from the balcony. Not suitable for elderly people as it is very hilly. We would personally rate this hotel as a 5star and would return there again.

"The Cabana Grand View Hotel was very..."
The Cabana Grand View Hotel was very impressive on arrival: clean and very nice. The room was spacious with a King size bed! Rooms were cleaned everyday. It was great to get free bottles of
water everyday. I enjoyed the buffet breakfast every morning. The pool is nice, with views. It is a good 25min walk to Chaweng Beach if you go to the sister hotel for beach chairs! It is good they have a free shuttle bus to town, but it doesn't always leave or pick you up every hour (beach to hotel times very misleading)! I found the staff friendly. I enjoyed my stay, but next time will go for a hotel on Chaweng Beach which were more value for money!

"People at reception not very friendly and..."
People at reception not very friendly and helpful (e.g. getting a cab) Price for hotel transport too high (should be to local standards) King Size bed reserved, but only two single bed received . Reception
refused to give my friend (Rini) another room. Only after I (Ingo) interfered we got another room (midnight). There was no compensation for inconveniences and no apology from the hotel. Hotel is obviously not able to handle internet bookings. Hotel should be more considerate towards the guests and not try to make them responsible for the hotel faults. Cabana was anyway only our second choice. Considering the service we would not stay anymore at your hotel and also not recommend to friends. Stay was no value for money. Regards, Ingo Steil

"The Cabana Grand View hotel has only..."
The Cabana Grand View hotel has only been opened 6 months, and found it a fairly plesant place to stay. The cleanliness of the room was good, with bed sheets and towels being changed daily.
The website describing the all rooms as having a 'seaview balcony view' was a little mis-leading...as all rooms actually face chewang town, and the seaviews are to the far left from the balcony. The in room satellite tv's were working, although limited choice to what to watch...mainly local tv, apart from HBO. Staff were very friendly, and always willing to assist. The breakfast buffet menu had a varied choice from western to local dishes, and the restaurant staff were good standard. The pool area was very picturesque, although they could have done with more pool loungers, as i found 8 not to be enough. Hotel is situated far north in Chewang area, about a good 10 minute walk into town and to the beach, although they have hourly shuttle busses to and from the beach daily. They are expanding the hotel, and am sure it will become more popular once the building work has been fully completed.
