Not to great :(
We stayed here for 2 nights and were very disspointed with the hotel considering the price we paid. We stayed in a bungalow which were fine, but had quite a strong smell from the bathroom which were unpleasant. The hotel is in a good location and close to a nice little town, but I would not reccomend for you to stay here.

Way overpriced
I definately would not stay Here again. We booked here as a treat for our last night in Koh Toa having travelled for 3 months and I can say I have stayed in much better and cheaper places. The room was nice however it rained and water gushed through out bathroom roof, the tv did not work, the staff were ok but the manageress was very rude and walked around carrying a small dog which was highly unprofessional and then upon check out having charged us an extortionate amount of money for somewhere really not worth it, they tried to charge us for minibar items we hadn't used but then decided that perhaps their housekeeping staff had not replaced it from the previous guests. They said it's ok we will let you off, let us off with things we havnt consumed, the cheek. Being told this by a woman holding a small dog was infuriating.

This resort is in no way as...
This resort is in no way as portrayed on the web site. It was the most expensive accommodation we had in Thailand. (A$350/night for 2 bedroom bungalow). Yes it does have an Infinity pool, but no they do not show the constant flow of training divers in the pool. It is old and in need of a total revamp. We complained about our room and were told, by the manager, that they don't usually let that room out! They relocated us to two separate rooms which, had we booked as such, would have been $100/ night cheaper than the 2 bedroom. No compensation was sought or offered. The restaurant was a disgrace. Buffet breakfast is included from 7.30am to 10.30am yet when we arrived at 9.00am there was nothing available. We along with an ever increasing number of hungry guests waited for more than 45 minutes before anything edible arrived. We tried to give the whole event the benefit of the doubt until the same thing happened again the next day. No where else on Koh Tao (or in fact in Thailand)did we encounter flies. We came to realise that it was because they all resided in the restaurant at Coral Grand Resort....6 deep around & in every condiment. Every resort that I have ever stayed at around the world treats customers as something special, but not here. Be very careful walking around the resort grounds as they have young kids driving all the gear down to the beach to be loaded for the Scuba diving. Even the diving instructors warned us to be careful because "they will not stop. The will run you down." After 3 horrendous days of this resort we relocated to a gorgeous resort at the end of the beach(400 metres away) where we were treated like royalty(for way less money)only to be kept awake all night by a beach party being held at Coral Grand that went at Maximum volume until 4.00am. Our thoughts went out to the poor guests who were trying to have a peaceful night in paradise at Coral Grand! Avoid it like the plague. Escape while you still can!

On one day we had an issue...
On one day we had an issue in the restaurant but the restaurant manager was excellent and did everything he could to sort it out. Which he did. That was excellent service and we were very grateful to him. The only real issue with this resort is that the rooms, in particular the bathroom, are past the point of needing to be redecorated. For the money this resort costs you would expect a much better bathroom than you get.

we've stayed here 6 nights in one...
we've stayed here 6 nights in one of the cottages (two rooms, two bathrooms, veranda)with our family of 5. Location is superb, at the beach, few minutes walking to restaurants and bars at seaside. Diving school on location is convenient, professional, but due to the number of divers sometimes a diving-factory. one of the few resorts on koh tao with a swimming pool. restaurant is OK.

Beautiful holidays on Koh Tao, even if...
Beautiful holidays on Koh Tao, even if it has been raining every day for 20 minutes. (From the 05.03 to the 10.03.2008) We had booked a bungalow directly at the beach, to walk 10 meters in the sea…..The breakfast is at the beach, but not very exciting The price of the bungalow does not fit to rest of the island. (You have to pay the near water) For the next time I will book a bungalow not at Saire beach (much cheaper and also beautiful) After Koh Tao, we were at Bangkok in millennium Hilton (a real 5 star hotel) cheaper than the coral grand…. Diving at Koh Tao was the best. (grey riff shark, giant grouper, skorpionfish, giant barracuda, tuner,……) For diving take the “new way diving”. (very small, not to much people on the boat!!! If You are from Austria or from Germany ask for chris (a Diving instructor from Linz/Austria who knows the real good places on Koh Tao! – unser water and on the island) Next Year again Koh Tao

It's quite an overprized resort compared to...
It's quite an overprized resort compared to the standard and the service they provide. There are lots of things you can not do. It's like beeing back to school where the schoolmaster tells you to behave. You have to give back beachtowels at 6 pm. by the latest!!! The service in the restaurant is non excisting. Stay at another resort!!!

Disappointed. Not the best resort of the...
Disappointed. Not the best resort of the island as I expected, the bungalows are rather worn out, other bungalows on the same beach looked nicer. Garden and pool are nice though.

Coral Grand is in perfect location, on...
Coral Grand is in perfect location, on beach front, short walk to restaurants and bars. Rooms are very clean, decent size and are secluded enough for privacy. I recommend this to any traveller and I will definitelt stay again in future. Thanks.
