The hotel overall was fantastic. Our bungalow...
The hotel overall was fantastic. Our bungalow was approximately 20 meters sea facing from the beach. You have an indoor shower and outdoor shower both with hot water. the rooms are split in two..1st: - Bedroom leading to bathroom and outdoor shower..2nd: - the living space with a bed to rest on and watch the sun set. There is no A/C just fan so it does get very warm at nihgt, you have a mosquito net over the bed as the the living areas are open planned and approx 2 foot gap from wall to roof. The sea is clear blue waters but there is rocks and pebbles that hindre your way into the sea, and you have to watch out for when wading in shallow water. The location was great, in a quiet spot on the island, you don't get hassled by anyone. The staff are soooooo friendly and helpfull. There isn't much around the hotel i.e shops and bar wise. But if you head out of the hotels entrance and turn left a 2 minute walk brings you to a couple of bars which serve great food for very little money. The best way to explore the island is by motorbike/scooter which you can hire from places on the island or more conveniently from the hotel approx 250THB per day. You you will discover a few bars/restaurants this way within a 5-10 minute ride away all beach facing (which also serve great food for little money)a great way to watch the sun set, also there are small beaches with hardly anyone on, so peace and quiet you will get for sure. The island does have a small town with a 7-eleven, this is approx 15 min ride away form the hotel again turn lft out of the hotel, you cannot get lost as the island is small and has one major road going all around the island. Be sure to get a map as there is some great scenery to taken adavantage of and sea front restaurants serving great food. I recommend this to anyone and for me 4 nights was just perfect. This is a romantics get away. **Stu and Winx June 2009**

Koyao Island Resort was amazing, pure paradise! It had the edge of traditional Thai living and modern life. The staff are lovely, food is great and it is just a great place to relax and get away from everything.

The bungalows were amazing, specious and luxury....
The bungalows were amazing, specious and luxury. We had outdoor shower and view towards the sea. The resort is really beautiful with surrounding gardens and private beach. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The main village on the island is a bit remote so you need to use bicycle/scooter to get there. The restaurant in the Koyao is not that great and expensive, so we preferred to eat in the nearby places (like Sea View restaurant). In the resort, there is sport equipment available, internet and amazing Spa. There is no separate playing area for children, which may be annoying sometimes. Overall I would recommend Koyao resort and we would like to go back there at some point.

Anyone who wants to stay at this...
Anyone who wants to stay at this 'resort' should know that the walls in the rooms do not reach up to the ceilings, so you have about one-metre of open air beneath the thatched roof, through which all sorts of bugs can fly in. There is a mosquito net over the bed and there are fans for when it's hot, but when you're expecting a four-star resort with air-conditioning, it's pretty disappointing to see what's on offer here. There is also no TV...which isn't a problem for a lot of people who go on holidays, but when your job requires you to keep up with news, even when you're away, it is something that is almost essential to have. We did request a TV but it wasn't connected to any cable network, so the only thing the TV was really useful for was to watch DVDs. The only TV with cable news was in the bar area, and the volume couldn't be adjusted, so you couldn't hear anything!!! The prices are also on the high side, and that wouldn't be a problem because it's sort of what you expect at a resort, but the quality of the food / cocktails etc. didn't match up to the prices being charged. The excursion to Hong Island to snorkel was very good but the sea canoe excursion organised by the resort was very disappointing. And it was far too expensive for what was offered. The location is good in one respect, in that Ko Yao Noi is a stunning island with fantastic views and lovely beaches...but this resort is a bit inconvenient to get to. Overall, we've stayed in cheaper resort accommodation at nearby Railay and would go back there again, but wouldn't return to Ko Yao Island Resort.

The resort was easy to get to...
The resort was easy to get to from Phuket airport, taxi then longtail boat. The open plan living was lovely and our room #101 was very private with a beautiful view of the beach and islands. The spa was quite good and reasonably priced. Staff were very attentive, and because we were on our honeymoon, the bed was decorated beautifully, and we were given a bottle of champagne on arrival. Overall, I would recommend this resort to anyone wanting to chill out for a few days and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Rather an exotic hotel, each villa facing the sea, open plan living. Very friendly staff, almost personal service. Very relaxing, ideal place to tank up some energy. Breakfast could be better.

The resort is on Long Island =...
The resort is on Long Island = Ko Yao just less than hour from the airport of Phuket or Krabi. I picked private transfer with limo and long-tail boat. Fantastic drive through the bay. The resort has just 15 villas all facing the sea and the famous james bond rocks. you can find more pictures on their site. Villas have bedroom and large outdoor living room. Each of them has additionally a large outdoor bathroom for showers under the stars and palm trees. Food is great, esp. the local catch seafood.Wine list extensive... Spa can recommend the massage koyao secret...soft oil massage ..what an experience. Great for a couple or family. space, nature, long beach and stunning views. highly recommendable! hjs
