Anyone who wants to stay at this...
Anyone who wants to stay at this 'resort' should know that the walls in the rooms do not reach up to the ceilings, so you have about one-metre of open air beneath the thatched roof, through which all sorts of bugs can fly in. There is a mosquito net over the bed and there are fans for when it's hot, but when you're expecting a four-star resort with air-conditioning, it's pretty disappointing to see what's on offer here.
There is also no TV...which isn't a problem for a lot of people who go on holidays, but when your job requires you to keep up with news, even when you're away, it is something that is almost essential to have. We did request a TV but it wasn't connected to any cable network, so the only thing the TV was really useful for was to watch DVDs.
The only TV with cable news was in the bar area, and the volume couldn't be adjusted, so you couldn't hear anything!!!
The prices are also on the high side, and that wouldn't be a problem because it's sort of what you expect at a resort, but the quality of the food / cocktails etc. didn't match up to the prices being charged.
The excursion to Hong Island to snorkel was very good but the sea canoe excursion organised by the resort was very disappointing. And it was far too expensive for what was offered.
The location is good in one respect, in that Ko Yao Noi is a stunning island with fantastic views and lovely beaches...but this resort is a bit inconvenient to get to.
Overall, we've stayed in cheaper resort accommodation at nearby Railay and would go back there again, but wouldn't return to Ko Yao Island Resort.
