My wife and me have been for...
My wife and me have been for a week in the Paradise. We have chosen the Paradise to have a really quiet week. However, this experience was not always as positive as I have read before on TA.
They are currently building a new house which caused a lot of noise. There was a constant hammering and sawing noise, which you even could hear all day long on the beach.
Also the powerlines giving the hotel electricity make a lot of noise. Lying on the beach you hear a constant whistling noise. Which can make you crazy after a while and is the beginning of a tinnitus. This noise is always there.
The beach is nice if you have high tide. There is a difference between high and low tide of nearly 1.6m which means, everything is fine during high tide but in low tide, the water is completely gone. Also, if the water is gone, this is not a sand beach. You will step on a lot of stones and my recommendation is to take some shoes with you to go into the water. It is not possible during low tide to swim in the sea.
As other advisors have mentioned, the staff could better be trained in English. Be careful in Thailand, because if they say Yes Yes to you, it means they didn't understand you.
The food is reasonably priced and Thai food, pizza and burgers start at around 250 THB currently 5 Euros. Coke and beer around 80 THB and Cocktail 240-300 THB. The choice is limited. So after a week you are desperate to eat something different. The breakfast is a buffet which is every day the same and you don't get the variety you expect from such a high priced hotel. Comparing with the Marriott Resort and Spa Bangkok the breakfast was a joke. Keeping in mind, that the Marriott is only half price of the Paradise.
Good thing, clean rooms. We stayed in a Jacuzzi Deluxe. Nice bed. Friendly staff. Go to the village tour with Yut. Very impressive.
Would I go back? Probably not, as I think the hotel is completely overprized. The hotel would get a much better rating if it is half prized. We paid 250Euro per night and this is definitely too much for the value you get.
