The transfers from Phuket to the island...
The transfers from Phuket to the island and back again by local ferry was great. We had nice conversations with the local people from the island.
At the harbour of the island the car from the resort was already waiting for us . We enjoyed the ride to the resort passing friendly people waving to us.
We hardly couln't believe to be on such an unspoiled island.
The owner was waiting for us near the reception/restaurant and welcomed us.
There were a just 3 other guests and we thought we arrived in paradise.
The view from the see, a beach with a few hammocks and chairs, the sound of the sea it was breathtaking.
And also from the veranda of our little cottage or from the restaurant you have the same magnificent view.
Delecious dinner at the restaurant, watching the sunset and watching the cat playing in the sand.
The next day we had a daytrip bij boat to the hidden lagune and islands and again we enjoyed the unspoiled world with impressive nature and hardly tourists.
Back at the resort the owner told us about living on the island, the habbits, the problems and how it is to try to keep the island unspoiled.
We (mother and doughter) only stayed 2 nights in the resort and it was to short. So we have to come back next year to this hidden paradise with our partners.

I went there with my husband and 2 girl friends on mid Oct 2008. Staff in resort are friendly and helpful. Boss is a Dutch and also friendly. Distance from Phuket Airport to Bangrong (jetty) takes around 30 mins or so (about 100baht taxi + custom 10 baht/pax). Form jetty to Koh Yao Yai (island) take long tail boat around 45 mins (about 150baht/pax). From Koh Yao Yai jetty take taxi (about 100baht/pax) to Resort another 20-30mins.
During this period (peak after Oct 08), not many guests, very relaxing and enjoyable for short stay as no town shopping nearby (small village) & no night activity.
Food not much variety as the same "material" but cook in different style, limited seafood (depend on catch or supply).
