No man's land
Lost in the middle of nowhere, only for people who wants to relax at the pool, there is NOTHING more to do. The beach is awful, it is not even sand so don't count on the beach. The only excursions you can do are of the hotel and very expensive. No restaurants or shops around, going at the Nantra De Deluxe is willing to do absolutely nothing.
Snakes, cockroaches and mosquitos, the insects are here a problem as we are in the middle of the nature.
I do not recommend to stay at this hotel of you are willing to visit the region of Krabi or the islands because, you have to pay and waste time to join civilization (1 hour from there).
The hotel is fine and the accomodation is great but it really depends on what you are searching for,

It is a beautiful Resort
We stayed for 3 nights. The rooms are beautiful clean new and value for money. the staff are friendly and very helpful. the cafe serves good food. Rooms are cleaned daily.the only disadvantage is that it is one hour drive from Ao nang beach. Had Yao beach is not meant for swimming. The resort can spend to top up good sand on the beach which is behind the resort . this will be a good investment for the resort and the guests can at least sit and enjoy the beach.
If the resort provides daily transport ( like a mini bus) to Ao nang it will be good. though we paid less for the rooms we spent a lot on transport to Ao nang daily (2500 Baht up and down). The resort has it own tour to emarald pool and Islands . But we we were not able to sync with them.

Almost perfect but...
I really wanted to love this hotel. The concept is great and their staff are friendly. They upgraded us to a pool villa which was very kind of them.
They are about 80% of the way to being great and the flaws all relate to a lack of attention to details. The manager is a great guy and does seem to be making the needed changes. What is really needed is staff training so that they can provide more professional service. I wish them the best.

The reception was excellent and service staff were always polite, friendly and receptive. This hotel is pretty far out, about 30 min via car from the airport, in the opposite direction from Krabi town and even Ao Nang. However, the beach was extraordinarily clean, with fine, naturally black sand with unobstructed views of the Andaman ocean.
This is less so a family resort, and more of a romantic, quiet getaway. One should think about renting transportation to get around if you do want to go to the touristy areas or do water sports which can be booked at Krabi town, or Ao Nang; that are 40min and hour to hour half respectively drive away.
