Was an average hotel, stayed in a pool access room and found the room was a little tired and the bathroom could do with a refurb.

We stayed 2 nights at Ao Nang...
We stayed 2 nights at Ao Nang Buri, the rooms were nice and clean. Our room had a swimming pool view as well as the view of the other rooms across the building. We always had to close our curtains. The room service people did not speak English very well and also our safety deposit box did not work.
One of the major draw back for the hotel is its location, it is not at Ao Nang beach, it is at nopparat thara beach, this is 30 minutes walk away from the main Ao Nange beach area (which has all the nice restaurants, tour booking services, longtail boats to Railay Beach and all the convenience stores). There is a solution to this, the hotel offers motorcycles for rent. On our 1st night we rented the motorcycle for the whole day price of 250 Baht, but we also found out that they can do rentals at half day at 150 Baht. I would recommend half day usage, if you don't plan to use it the whole day. The staff never tells you about this unless you ask for it.
If I plan to come back to Krabi, I would rather book a hotel on Ao Nang Beach. You can also rent motorcycles there as well. I am sure it would be cheaper.
For Tours, Phi Phi and James Bond Island should be 800 Baht, Four Island Tour at 350 Baht for High Quality. Don't pay anymore than this.
