The hotels location is really fantastic - Railay West (sunset) beach was our favourite as there were not quite as many day trippers on this one.
The hotel staff are very very friendly and will do anything they can to help you but they did not always have the actual information that you required.
The tap water in the rooms was brown when we stayed there which was a bit of a surprise - the hotel mentioned that this was the result of some heavy rain ....
Overall we had a great time there and Railay is absolutely beautiful.

We have just spent a week in the Rayavadee. This is our third visit and hopefully not our last. The resort is considered one of the premier resorts in Thailand and rightfully so. The service is excellent and the treatment of guests is unfailingly attentive from pool attendants to management.
We generally visit Thailand once a year for approx 5 weeks and stay in 5 star resorts during our visit. Although some are newer and more glitzy than the Rayavadee, I still prefer this resort to any other. The standards are excellent, the spa is beautiful and the care taken to minimise the impact on the wonderful environment of Railay/Phra Nang is commendable.
We shall definitely spend some time in the Rayavadee in 2009 and I would highly recommend it to anyone although it is quite expensive it is, in my opinion, worth every penny.

We stayed at Rayavadee on our honeymoon...
We stayed at Rayavadee on our honeymoon and I thoroughly recommend it for the setting, service, food, spa and delightful cottages. Can't wait to go back.
We were on our honeymoon in Raliegh...
We were on our honeymoon in Raliegh when this hotel was being build. We were able to view one of the villas and private beach. It was amazing. When we return to Thailand - this will be a stop on our travels.
