This is a lovely hotel close to the beach and other amenities. We found breakfast a bit limited but similar to other hotels in Thailand in the same price range. The tropical plants and auatic life give the hotel a real sense of being a retreat even though it is actually close to the main resort.

We had a wonderfull time here and we like to come back for a few days next year. The whole resort was beautiful! Big, nice decorated rooms with a big balcony from where you can look in a tropical garden. A very good - and cheap - restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere espacially in the evening, a nice pool and a great location (only 100 m. away from the street with MC Donald, Tailors, Supermarkt etc. and 400 m away from the beach but it was always very qiute inside because of the jungle around an in the resort)

I have an enjoyable stay at the resort with my husband in April 2006. It's like staying in rain forest! The staff is very friendly. The location is surprisingly good, just 5-7 mins walk to the beach and there are shops, restaurents, pharmacies, convenient stores just outside the resort. It is very quiet and peaceful at night. The only complain my husband have is that the receiption of TV programmes is very poor. He couldn't watch his favourite soccer matches. I wish there are more sun deck around the pool.

A nice and special place to spend my hoilday. Swimming pool is large, food is ok and room is very nice with a forest view, like living in the jungle.

My friend and I were disappointed with this resort. Although the jungle setting was impressive, the rooms were dark as a result. Walkways through the trees lead to the different log cabins and at night it is badly lit and felt a little threatening-not a comfortable feeling for a sole traveller. Our room was very spacious but the furniture was dated and fairly kitsch. Staff were rarely seen and there was little or no service. There were very few loungers in the pool area and used glasses etc., were not collected for long periods. We felt that the place was basically running itself. There were no public areas other than the restaurant and pool.

The hotel is very nice, but I can not tell you the same about the staff and about breakfast.
They gave me a room in a place very dark,there was very much vegetation in front of my terrace,cocrochas... I tried change the room since the hotel was empty, but they didn't want.
Breakfast it was very poor, it was not a buffet, I needed ask anything, and the waiter was very umpleasant

When arriving at Somkiet Buri Resort you just step into the jungle. You are almost in the middle of Ao Nang and still far out in the nature. The surroundings are just beautiful. We stayed at the resort beginning of February 2003 and had a deluxe room. It had one big doublebed (2 metres) and one single bed (at least 1 metre)which was enough for both of our children who are 4 and 8 years old. The room was very big with space enough for all off us, and it was very clean. Something with the tap in the bathroom was not working correct, and very fast there came 3 men to fix it. Staff were all very friendly. The pool is good for both children and adults, but there are no chairs (except for two fine ones made of stones) around the pool (when looking after the children). There is a good sun deck 10 steps down from the pool. The only thing is that breakfast could be more exciting, but we would happily stay at Somkiet Buri Resort again.We chose the hotel from the Internet without knowing much about the area, but when we were in Ao Nang we were happy of the choice we had made. I never thought I would be so satisfied with a 3-star hotel. It is highly recommended.

Perfect view, excellent service, super-friendly staff,... just so wonderful! The best thing is that you are surrounded in green nature inside the hotel.

I STAYED HERE BY CHANCE FOR 15 NIGHTS JAN 2002. THE HOTEL IS FANTASTIC AND GOOD VALUE.
ROOMS ARE GREAT STAFF ARE FRIENDLY AND CANT DO ENOUGH FOR YOU.
RESTAURANT IS FANTASTIC. ONLY DRAWBACK IS THAT BEING A MUSLIM RUN HOTEL THAT ALCOHOL IS NOT SOLD.
YOU ARE QUITE WELCOME TO PUT YOUR DRINK IN THE FRIDGE IN YOUR ROOM AND IN THE RESTAURANT THEY WILL QUITE HAPPILY SUPPLY YOU WITH WINE GLASSES AND AN ICE BUCKET AND SERVE YOUR WINE.
