Awesome place. Has lots of character, awesome and helpful staff, great breakfast on your porch each morning, nice pool, and scenic backdrop. A bit of a walk up the hill from the beach but that was not a problem. Also, some fun bars just down the street for the more mature crowd or couples (the ones on the main strip feel more like Cancun). Bedroom was a tad small but very nice, and the bathroom was a really cool touch...overall I loved it and would recommend staying there again.

Wonderful place. The hotel was kind enough to allow us to check in early. Service was good with friendly smiles all around. The small room size was not an issue for us. The room and bathroom was clean. We felt that the walkway to our room was a little overcrowded with plants and the water in the pond around the suite was a little too murky. Great breakfast! The distance to the popular Ao Nang beach was a good 15 mins walk.

Incredible SERVICE! Beautiful hotel...it is small, perhaps just 20 cottages. Not one of those mega-complex hotels. It is important to note that it is not on the beach...in fact, it is a bit of a walk (but easily jump into the many tuk tuks running up and down the street). But with this said, you don't go to Ao Nong for the beach...it is the place to go after the sun sets. From Ao Nong it is easy to go to the other secluded beaches (by long tail boat, high speed boat, mini-van).
After spending the day at the secluded beaches, it was great to come back to the hotel and swim in the beautiful pool overlooking the limestone cliffs.

Overall did not my expectations, to expensive for what you get. An excellent location and great swimming pool. The room was small and dark ( screened by trees). There were no tea/ coffee making facilities and storage space was limited. There was no room service and the dinner menu was limited. Prehaps ther biggest disappointment was the breakfast which was poor quality and very limited choice. Also the breakfast had to be ordeded the night before, a bit like being at school. Prehaps this is a harsh review but I am only comparing to hotels of a similar price. Much room for improvmemt, it has the potential to be an excellent place to stay, but not at the moment.

Thumbs up for their service. We were very early due to our flight but they were able to check us in early. Upon knowing that we were on our honeymoon, they even arrange rose petals on our bed & served a bottle of complimentary champagne. The room looks bigger in the pictures but was cosy, very clean & nicely done. The open shower is a plus, our only regret was that there were no bathtub. The whole place is generally quiet & the guest were mostly couples. You enjoy alot of privacy.
Breakfast served to the room at your timing & customised to your preference is such an indulgence.. On the day of check-out as we needed to catch a very early flight they even packed sandwiches for us before the kitchen opens. I give them perfect scores for their service.
Do note that they are located 10-15 mins walk away from the beach, may not be good if you have kids or very elderly folks. Gave us some exercise after a full meal although we did pick up lots of street snacks along the way. :) tuk tuks are cheap & available if you're too lazy to walk.

Pictures from website look really enticing. But truth was I was a tad disappointed upon arriving as the room was really small! Also disappointed at the lack of facilities at the resort. However, the great service of the staff quickly made up for all these shortcomings. They were warm and friendly, and made an effort in remembering your names and which room you are staying at. Very commendable service indeed!

Had an absolutley fantastic time at The Cliff due in a large part to the friendliness and helpfullness of all of it's staff. The setting is beautiful and the food is some of the best we found in Ao Nang. The location is a 10 minute walk or (2 minute moped taxi) to the sea front at Ao Nang. Highly recommended!
Our stay in the Cliff Ao Nang...
Our stay in the Cliff Ao Nang hotel was most wonderful. The staff were extremely hospitable. The food was great. The ambience was romantic and peaceful and the view of the cliff was fantastic.
However, we did feel that the room was a bit small. Also we did not feel a complete sense of privacy as the room was based on an open concept and all window blinds can be pulled up to let the light in hence, when the blinds are down there are still small gaps between the blinds and u feel that the people walking outside can look in. Though this is only true for a handful of rooms.
We were disappointed at the breakfast menu as well as they offered fixed set menus of continental, american and local breakfast that was not changed throughout the stay. But you can order as much as you want from any menu.
Having said that, I have to confess that we truely enjoyed our stay at the Cliff Ao Nang. We felt like we were with family. The staff are the best we have come across in any hotel. They even packed Thai curry pastes for us to take away as we were interested in cooking Thai food.
And the outdoor concept bathroom was great. It felt like we were showering in the rain. The only downside was that we had to contend with ants at the toilet bowl at night.

I stayed at 5 different hotels during my recent trip to Thailand. The service I received was excellent at all hotels. However, the staff at The Cliff went that extra mile - so friendly and always more then willing to help. The hotel is very novel - outdoor showers and you feel like your in the middle of a forest or jungle. The breakfast is very nice - unlike other hotels you pick exactly what you want the night before. The location isn't the best as it's a 10 minute walk to Ao Nang beach. However, you can grab a tuk tuk outside the hotel and they will drive you to the beach for 20 bahts per person. PS - it's about a 40 minute drive to Krabi airport and 25 minute drive to the pier.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Cliff Ao Nang and would definately recommend it.
The staff were incredibly helpful and the service provided from the front desk reception to resturant and bar staff were amazing. The resturant "Rim Pa" was standout (quality and price) and we also say this in comparison to many of the resturants we tried on the main beach strip. So much so that we enjoyed dining here over consecutive evenings.
