We have used Asiarooms several times to book hotels and have always been pleased. The process is easy, the communication is good, and the website is very user friendly.
We enjoyed our stay at Krabi Sands. The room was a good size, clean, and we especially liked having our own covered deck area. The restaurant across the road offers a good breakfast and the rest of the menu is priced well and is tasty! We didn't enjoy the beach across the way as much as we enjoyed the beach down the way(to the right if you're facing the water). That beach was lovely and not crowded. The hotel helped us figure out the best way to get to Railay and arranged our transportation to Ao Nang. The buildings around the resort area are not so nice, but you don't notice that once on site. A plesant weekend retreat!

The hotel was really nice, the service was really good as well but the location is not that good. You're far from everything, you have to rent a car or use a taxi if you want to go somewhere.
Apart from that, the hotel is a really good value for money!

We stayed at the Krabi Sands hotel from March 17-23 2007 and have to say: EXCELLENT! If you are looking for a really quiet place, away from all the main tourist spots, that's the place to go!
The staff was really nice and helped out in every way they could. I don't know if it was the time of year we've been there, but there were just 5 to 10 other people at the hotel, so we had like a private pool.
Like other people said, it's situated quite lonley, altough the Sheraton hotel (with a great beach!) and the Andaman Hotel are in walking distance.
We rented a motorbike at the hotel (for 300 Baht a day) and explored all of Krabi.
I personally would recommend to rent a boat (1500 Baht a day - for the boat, not per person!!!) and go to Hong island. It takes about 15-20 minutes to get there. Be sure you don't forget your snorkeling gear like we did :-(
Summary: If we come back to Krabi one day - AND WE WILL!!! - we would stay at the Krabi Sands again. 100% Recommendation!

The place is really serene but the location is really out of the way.. but you will have to go there only on high peak season, if you are going krabi on low peak, it is better to stay at aonang beach as most restaurant s and stores are open.
