My wife and I recently stayed here...
My wife and I recently stayed here in the Spa Suite. The Spa Suite was nice with a big bathroom that opens up to the rest of the room (sliding windows/doors). There is also a balcony with a great view of the bay, although the balcony is not entirely private from neighboring rooms. The satellite TV is very limited (only about 9 channels total, and only half of those in English), but the room does have a DVD player. We read about the DVD players from another reviewer here so we took some of our own DVDs which worked well. The actual resort is pretty nice. The food was good but expensive in my mind (expect to pay about 500+ Baht per person for dinner, and 300+ Baht for lunch). The pool is nice but the beach area directly in front of the hotel is not a good place to swim (has a bunch of rocks) so for swimming in the ocean you will have to drive to another beach (or walk maybe 20-30 minute around the bay). One of our main problems with the hotel was that our room had a bunch of ants that we had to deal with. The hotel is located at the very end of the bay and is very isolated. There are a few other scattered hotels and resorts but everything is very spread out. The Khanom area doesn't have many tourist or water activities. If you go here then you should probably plan to spend the entire time at the resort - there isn't really anything close by within walking distance. We had our own car so we drove into the main city area to get some snacks and things from the 7-11 there (about a 20 minute drive), but there isn't much to be found in Khanom city. We stayed at the resort for two days and enjoyed our time there. We weren't planning to do any tourist activities so we weren't bothered by the location. While we did have a good time, I don't think we will go back to Khanom any time soon. We will probably go to Koh Samui or Krabi instead as those locations have more shopping, restaurants, and vacation activities. Booking through asiarooms worked great (as always) and saved us a significant amount over the regular hotel price.

Magnificent. Easily the best hotel I have...
Magnificent. Easily the best hotel I have stayed in Thailand. Spa rooms are very big (although a decent sized TV wouldnt go amiss in such a big room) with a huge balcony and fabulous view of the bay. Not recommended unless you are looking for a quiet chill-out break which suited the wife and I down to the ground. Looking forward to a return visit before long.

If you want to stay away from...
If you want to stay away from everything in peace and quiet with few people round the pool and just relax and read books, swim and do nothing all day, this hotel is great and for a few days and hits the mark. However, if you want to do anything at night, during the day or what ever, this hotel falls short. The beach you can see from the hotel is only accessable from other hotels some 30 walk away and although the pool is lovely that's it.There is a small gym where the running machine decides when it wants to work and when it does not, there is no bar or evening entertainment. the town is a prebooked and relatively expensive hotel minibus ride away and offers nothing but a 7 11 store. The nearest big town shopping or Golf is 1 1/2 hours drive away ( by the same hotel mini bus which you have to hire for the day). The restaurant is limited and often runs out of things on the menu and although there is room service, the food will be stone cold as they do not cover it or keep it hot on it's 500 yard trip from the kitchen to your room. If this hotel wants to bring more people it needs to have a bar and air conditioned sitting area with some music and perhaps entertainment on occasion. it needs to offer simple things like tavle tennis, snooker or even some board games and somewhere to play them. it need to find out where the nearest tennis courts and putting green is or build it's own and it needs to have the number for a local taxi firm who are more reasonably priced. The in room tv has very limited stations and although there is a dvd player with dvds to rent, they are not all available or up to date. This hotel is ideal for a couple who want to just be alone together, stay in bed or by the pool and chill out doing little or nothing.
