This was our third trip to Montien Pattaya. Each time I kept hoping the service would improve. It has not. After reserving the room for 2 adults and paying in full, in advance, we got to the hotel and were informed there was an additional charge of 800 Baht per night for my wife because she is Thai. This was inspite of my holding a voucher which in 2 places stated "prepaid in full, 2 adults." During our previous stays at the hotel there was not any mention of such a charge. After about 30 minutes of refusing to pay a single Baht extra they removed the "Thai girl fee". My entire complaint about this hotel is the management and service. The room was clean, the location is good, and the hotel is pretty. However, 90% of the staff at all levels never smile even if smiled at, and both my wife and I felt so unwelcomed the entire 4 nights that we have decided not to return. There has always been different, but equally uncomfortable, disputes with the management, each time with them trying to somehow get more money. 10% service charge on everything, missing slippers charge, strange phone charges, and now the "Thai girl charge". We have had enough of this place.
