Generally good. Staffs were polite and attentive. Rooms were clean and facilities were good. The only shortcoming is the price. Many cheaper hotels around the vicinity.

Quite pleasing to the eye with the...
Quite pleasing to the eye with the drive up to the entrance. Otherwise overpriced compared to better 4 star hotels in Bangkok. Do not try to check-in with your Thai spouse, girl friend or just good friend. You will be charged 800 Baht extra, although you have booked a double room. I for one will certainly not return to this hotel. Leave it to the package tour crowd of over sixties.

Lovely property, room was good and the...
Lovely property, room was good and the bathrooms were clean and working ( a problem in most of my thai experiences ) the restaurant was great .. the buffet most enjoyable. Only negative here was the way my friends from Bangkok were treated .. the atmosphere totally changed when i tried to check them in, and when i asked why they were unable to charge to the room i was informed because they were only guests .. hello ... i am a guest .. would probably try elsewhere next trip to pattaya

I found the hotel good value and...
I found the hotel good value and staff nice - after an incident at check in. I booked a room for two persons But when i arrive to check in i was told i had to pay extra money because i arrived from Bangkok with with my Thail girl friend. After some time i was alowed to check in without paying the extra cost. I was told the extra cost was because she was Thai. This caused me embarrassment at the time but still had a great stay and intend to stay again.

The buffet dinners in Montien Hotel are...
The buffet dinners in Montien Hotel are the best I have come across anywhere in the world and I certainly have had some. Forget even the Gourmet Buffet dinner at the Bellagio in Las Vegas - this one costs 5x less and is at par with it. Impeccable service, beautiful gardens and pool area with stunning views. Unbeatable

Was really disappointed with the hotel overall....
Was really disappointed with the hotel overall. Asked for a high floor, to get a good view of Pattaya Bay, they gave me the 4th which was just at the top of the treeline. Ordered room service, bill came to around 850 baht, the delivery person asked me if I wanted him to go all the way downstairs to get my change. I finally told him just keep the change. Pulled up in front of the hotel in a taxi after a round of golf and the hotel personnel told me to hurry up and get out of the car because a VIP was coming. They could not wait 30 seconds for me to tip the taxi and book the taxi for the next day. I complained to the duty manager but I dont think he cared because he was too busy with the VIP. The TV in the room hissed and crackled for about 5 minutes after you turned it on. The selection of TV programs was limited. My wife, who is asian, was always getting stares from the hotel staff like she was a "bar girl". The room was clean but needs new carpet. Would not stay there again!!! A better value can be found elswhere!!!!

Highly recommended. The staff at the Montien...
Highly recommended. The staff at the Montien Hotel Pattaya, are professional, friendly and efficient. The food is superb, especially look out for Buffet Nights in the Coffee Shop. The rooms though dated are spotlessly clean and all have wonderful views of the bay.

I'm a regular guest at the Montien...
I'm a regular guest at the Montien (former Regent Pattaya) since 20 years. Another excellent hotel with excellent service, located in central Pattaya. I highly recommend this hotel.
