Generally good value for money with good...
Generally good value for money with good location for the nightlife. The New Years Party was good, but Pattaya is now suffering from an overdose and invasion of rich Russian tourists!!!

Sunbeam is a good hotel for singles...
Sunbeam is a good hotel for singles and couples who come for some night life only. Too much disturbance from the neighbouring bars and night spots with loud street music keeping you up upto the wee hours of the morning. Front desk people are also not very well equipped with English language.

This is only an "ok" hotel. I got a suite. The rooms were specious but the bathroom was surprisingly small and non-ventilated (it had a bad smell from poor ventilation). The buffet breakfast was again only ok, not the greatest. The pool is a bit small and not much space around it. The best part about this hotel is its excellent location in the middle of the night action, if that is what you are looking for.

Hotel is not bad but some of...
Hotel is not bad but some of the rooms are a bit shabby. This hotel needs some work to get it back to standard. All in all there are far better hotels around for better value.

I know you will say the hotel is not...
I know you will say the hotel is not too bad given the price you pay, but that's like saying i give you the room free of charge, but you will have to share it with stray dogs. There's got to be a minimum standard for everyone. There will be people who will place price in front of everything, but there will be others who must have a minimum standard for hotel living and don't mind paying a little more for better comfort. I just want to be factual, and you draw your own conclusion. This hotel is old, the corridor is not air-conditioned, the lift is slow, small and always full (logical outcome of being slow and small). I stayed in a superior room, and i seriously cannot imagine how the standard room will look like if what i had is already of superior quality. Room size is ok, but furnishing is obviously dated. Bathrooms are tiled (not marbled) and crampy, the pipes would start making all sorts of noise when you turn on the hot water. Of course i have to remind myself that i did not pay a 5 star price so i should not whine, but if what i have described did not meet your minimum requirements of a hotel, you should just give this a miss. I am sure another US$5-10 you will be able to find a better quality hotel nearby.

I stayed in Sunbeam hotel for two...
I stayed in Sunbeam hotel for two nights alongwith my family. It was just great. Everything was excellent. I will definately recommend the hotel to everyone who is visiting pattaya.

I stayed for five nighs in March...
I stayed for five nighs in March and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Everyone was helpful and friendly. I requested a room on a high floor and got this no problem. It was cleaned daily by very pleasent staff. The room itself was a standard but exceeded my expectiations of a standard room. I think it's location is also perfect. I can definately recommend the Sunbeam hotel for all classes, families, couples and singles alike.

The male supervisor who attended to us...
The male supervisor who attended to us on our check-in day (wee morning of 22 Dec due to a flight delay) was friendly and helpful.  Most of the senior staff as well as the Chef were friendly.  However, most of the chambermaids and some other staff in the coffee house were not able to understand and speak simple English.  It was just impossible to relate and put across our queries to them.  We did not find the room to be very clean, spotted two cockroaches on separate nights.  Hotel location is not suitable for families with young children because of the bars and night life activities within very close vicinity, although somewhat centralised.
