Our stay at Green Park Resort from...
Our stay at Green Park Resort from Aug. 30 to Sept. 2 was overall an enjoyable stay. The rate for the room was good, the breakfast was very good, and the large pool was excellent and it was in quite surroundings. Only a couple of minutes walk to the shopping and bar area and a little further walk to the beach which wasn't very far. Also easy access to the taxis. The staff was overall courteous and although all couldn't speak or understand english, there were enough staff on hand so that there was someone who could speak english well enough to carry on a conversation.
There were several things which we did not like about the resort. 1) immediately upon arriving we were given a room with a queen size bed when we had booked a king size. 2) while the room came with breakfast free for two people, I think since we had to pay a higher rate for our child to stay, it looks as if he also should have received a free breakfast. Doesn't a child normally eat less anyway? 3) the tour we took to Nong Nooch Gardens which was booked through the resort was supposed to last much longer than it did and was supposed to include lunch. We arrived back at the resort over 2 hours early and with no lunch. After much complaining to the manager on duty we were finally refunded enough money to buy our own lunch, although not enough for a decent meal. 4) the ants. Heavens I have never stayed in a hotel, much less a resort which was inundated with ants! Please..........get rid of the ants! 5) if more than two people are staying in a room and higher rates are being paid for that reason, shouldn't there be a towel for each additional person? 6) on the second day of our 4 night reservation we tried to book the room for an additional night. We could have gotten the room but it would have been double the rate that we were already paying. Instead, we decided to check out another hotel just a few minutes away and were very satisfied with getting a room which was just as nice for only 1/4 the rate we would have had to pay for the extra night at the Green Park Resort.
Would we stay at the Green Park Resort again? Not sure at this time. If they would rid the place of the ants and make a couple of changes, there would be no doubt that we would stay again. It could be a very nice stay in the quiet surroundings while having peace of mind.
