I was looking foward to staying in...

I was looking foward to staying in a newly opened internationally branded hotel but was ultimately dissapointed with my stay. The pool filters were not working when I arrived and they had two portable pool filtration systems operating around the pool which were obviously not coping as the water was cloudy and almost had a texture to it. This is only a new property so I could not see the filtration problem as being a major repair job that required the pool being dug up,for example.So why for the 4 days that I was there the problem was not fixed nor was any attempt made to fix the problem, apart from adding extra chemicals.This only left the water quality declining with each day. I visited the other so-called lower quality hotels in the immediate area and all of their pools had sparkling clear water-I wished I had stayed at any of these properties instead of the Mercure. I stayed in a superior room and be warned that the only hot water in these rooms is in the shower (which is luke warm at best).The bathroom sink has cold water only-the hot water hose is not connected.There is also no kettle in the room nor mirror in the shower.So if you are male and use a razor like myself good luck with you shaving!If you want hot water you need to book a delux room!! I found this cost cutting measure difficult to accept-in a unbranded 2 star hotel yes- but a Mercure? There is also no gym. The loction is a nuisance.I was totally aware of this before I arrived and yes they do have tuk tuk transfers to 2nd road but often you are the only passenger and the porters/drivers aren't always overjoyed to see you. There are so many hotels in Pattaya to choose from that offer a good qaulity environment to stay in, with a much better location and greater attention to detail, for the same or less money than the Mercure. I would be looking at these hotels before I considered the Mercure Pattaya again. All is not bad though-the breakfast is very good, if it is included in your rate!

This was a very good hotel with...

This was a very good hotel with great service,bathroom was a little small but was clean and housekeeping was good. The pool and recreation area was great.Was a little out of the way but had a 24hr. taxi,tuk tuk free service to main street which had a security person to call when needed which we found to be really great you. Will stay again on our next trip

This was my 2nd visit to the...

This was my 2nd visit to the Mercure at Pattaya - and I was not disappointed. It suits my needs perfectly, situated away from the noise of the main thoroughfares but so accessible to those areas thanks to the 24 hour shuttle service, just one of the features that make this a special place to stay. While the room was all that I required and the pool continues to amaze me, the best part of the stay for me is the staff - I have travelled to many countries and many parts of Thailand and the friendliness, professionalism and understanding of the reception staff at the Mercure is as good as I have experienced anywhere. The staff in the restaurant, and the cleaning staff, were also vey impressive. I was made to feel very welcome at all times and in all circumstances and that certainly adds enormously to the pleasure of a holiday. I can't wait until I am able to return to Pattaya - and the Mercure.

This was my 3rd year at the...

This was my 3rd year at the Mercure in Pattaya and I still recommend it every time! The rooms are contemporary and comfortable, staff are attentive and facilities more than you'd require in visiting Pattaya, great value for money and the perfect choice if you wish a decent hotel just a stone's throw away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Pattaya.

The hotel was excellent, good value for money and thanks for all because my room upgraded for free, from deluxe room become family suite. The room was very clean and well proportioned. We would stay at this hotel again and reccomended for all.

Very pleasant hotel. Was first skeptical...

Very pleasant hotel. Was first skeptical about location, but was pleasantly surprised - free tuk tuk or a short cut on foot to a big shopping mall. Although the rooms are a bit small, overall very nice hotel and will definitely stay there again.

This is the second time I have...

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. It is about a 10 minutes walk from the nighlife(walking street)but is only 5 minutes from other nightlife areas and the main street. Service at the hotel is good and the cafe food is also quite good if you need a night in. Buffet breakfast has a good selection of food. Rooms are very clean. The only down side of the rooms is the bathroom is very small...and I mean very small, but your not in Pattaya for the hotel bathroom are you! Just one other warning..if you don't like a hard bed, this is not the hotel for you.

A very pleasant hotel with very clean...

A very pleasant hotel with very clean rooms, which is the most important thing in staying in pattaya.The bathroom is very nice as well and i slept very well during my stay at pattaya too.It's location is a bit off from the second road if u walk by foot,but the hotel provide the free song thaew ride which available 24 hours from the hotel entrance right up to the 2nd road which is only a minute ride?All you need to do is just stand at the bellboy counter and the driver will notice and just hop on to the tuk-tuk and take a windy n fun ride to the busy 2nd road.From the drop off at 2nd road,its just bout 5 minutes walk to royal garden plaza and not too far away is the walking street.There's a lot of korean tourist staying there too and i would highly recomment Malaysian and singaporean to stay there as it is suitable for families and couples unlike other budget hotels around pattaya where you would be using rooms where these white guys bring in hookers all the time.It's clean and very family oriented.It has a very large and beautiful swimming pool as well. The only dissapointment about the hotel is the breakfast.The choice was so little and it was as great as i thought it would be.It was enough to feel my up my tummy so i wouldnt complain much.I would surely stay in the hotel again in the future.
