Hotel in perfect location. Very quiet but...
Hotel in perfect location. Very quiet but a short walk to both Dongtan and Jomtien beaches. Pattaya city a short taxi ride away. Hotel staff extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms very spacious but some with poor lighting and windows. Built into the cliffside means it is not really suitable for young children or the elderly but perfect for couples.An inexpensive hotel but good value for money considering breakfast is included in price. Stunning views from pool and dining room. The castle theme is a bit odd in Thailand but its quite quirky.

It's quite surprising that there is still a hotel which has NO LIFT. In the bedroom, there's even no ceiling light. Golden Cliff is definitely for super romantically blind couple only (maybe for those who love step-climbing too). The only thing pleased me is the fantastic pools. There is two pools, one inside the hotel and one upon the cliff. First one is clean and lovely. However, for the second one next to sea, the step down to pool is a bit rusty and loose, be careful. Anyway, sea view is terrific.
For budget traveler, even you book the cheapest room, take the taxi costs into account, coz there is no way to walk to the Pattaya city from the hotel. It'd cost a lot for taking taxi all the time.

The room is very dusty, the wall is very dirty, bathroom's window were broken...but the sofa and bed were OK. The outlook of the hotel was really great (a castle), the swimming pool was also good. It's nearby the beach, but the hotel was not so famous, many taxi drivers have never heard about this hotel, I asked for many taxis to go back to hotel...finally, we ordered a car to Bangkok through the hotel, we need to wait for about 2 hours! (the lobby has no air conditioner) I think I won't stay there again, because there are so many choices in Pattaya!

I like the Hotel. Nice Building and verry good breakfest. But the Hotell must buy more sunchair to the pool. The saltwaterpool got only 14 sunchair. But I think they got place to 40-50 sunchair.Bad for the Hotel,because people going to the beach.
I stayed in the Golden Cliff House...
I stayed in the Golden Cliff House for two weeks from 29th December 2005 and on first impressions it seemed a nice hotel but in the middle of no where,i had booked a golden suite mountain room but the view was just looking over the road onto wasteland though the suite room was big,clean and spacious,the only complaint i would have about the room was that the shower had little power and the bathroom sink only had cold water,the hotel had an outstanding view overlooking the sea and the swimming pools were very good,the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel supplies a taxi service into Pattaya for 100 baht a person but once i had a look around i found that there were taxi's and motorcycle taxi's readily availible and cheaper about a five minute walk away and the beach was about a three minute walk, the beach was very clean and quieter than Pattaya and Jomtien beaches, the hotel is about a ten minute taxi ride away from the main Pattaya beach road so if you are looking for a peaceful holiday in a nice hotel then book into the Golden Cliff House Hotel, if i return to the hotel in the future then i would book a sea view room as to wake up every morning to that sea view would be outstanding,

+ Nice looking hotel in quite place. No big road under your windows.
- But really hard to get to center of Pattaya without taxi.
+ There is sea pool, and 5 minutes to beach by foot.
- No balcony in standard room, and you can't to dry your beach towels or wet clothes.
- No bars and restaurants near hotel, only inside.
- Not good laundry: clothes were damaged.
- Aircondition hasn't remote control, only two mode: on and off.
Total: good place to relax in silence, but only few days.

Our room at the Golden Cliff (altought one of the best I think - because a corner room) was really dark at night. only two bedlamps and no central light point. really very dark.
No lift.
Breakfast is ok.
the swimmings pools are great but there's a general impression of "oldness". The entire hotel need to be renvated.
Excellent views from dining areas & swimming pools.
Staff very friendly and helpfull.
Location is far away from everything but if you got a car or motorbike, it is ok. If not : place to avoid.
