Family stay at the Avalon Beach Resort
We booked the Avalon as we are a family of five, the youngest of whom is 2 years old, so we wanted a hotel with a nice pool as well as easy access to the beach. The Avalon pool is very pleasant and was perfect for our children as it has plenty of shallow entry points so the youngest could get in and out unaided. The beach is a few paces across a quiet street. I think at weekends it would normally be very busy but due to the floods in other parts of Thailand there were fewer guests than usual and we enjoyed the quiet and friendly atmosphere of the hotel and the beach. The staff at the Avalon were very friendly and pleasant. We ate out at lunchtime and in the evenings - there is a good choice of restaurants and market stalls within walking distance - and the hotel breakfast (included in our room rate) was very good. We booked two rooms online and then on arrival were given adjoining rooms, which was perfect for our family situation. A cot was provided in minutes, even though I hadn't booked one online. The restaurant has highchairs. In fact lots of the hotel furniture is wooden and quite attractive - better than we had expected. Our original plan had been to book one night (a Saturday) and then shop around for another hotel for two more nights. As the children liked the Avalon so much we just extended our stay there for two more nights. We saw a couple of other nice places near the Avalon - The Rabbit Resort looks good for a more beachy, laid-back vibe - but I think the Avalon has the best pool and the best location in that it's right opposite the beach but only a short walk from the shops, restaurants, ATM etc. The reason I gave Customer Service 5 instead of 6 in my rating is that when it came time to pay the bill we were initially asked to pay for the night we booked online, which we had actually already paid for. Luckily my husband was able to explain this successfully. The other families at the hotel - and in Jomtien generally - were mostly Russian.
Over all satisfied.
Location of the resort was balanced and perfect. A quiet beach right in front and the liveliness of Jomtien beach about 5-10 minutes walk away and night life of Pattaya City just 5 minutes away by car. I recommend to rent a car or motorbike.
The resort had a clean swimming pool, Thai style interior decorating, big bath tub in the bathroom and a spacious balcony facing the center of the resort (swimming pool).
The only complain is the "cheese burger" we ordered through room service which wasn't so good and they forgot the cheese. The walls of the rooms were thin so we can hear doors shutting.
But I would love to visit this resort again and would recommend it for a getaway from the city.

Excellent location right on the beach and good swimming pool. When the reception finally understand what assistance you need - they oblige, but patience is essential as their knowledge of English is not very good. Courtesy of staff is excellent. Bar and restaurant are not inviting or busy enough to encourage use in the evening - in fact I saw no one in them during our 4 day visit, but there are good restaurants a short walk away. Try the Norwegian(?) resteraunt Oh Li Li (or something like that) only 50m from the hotel on the beach - the Thai food was excellent!!

It has a nice swimming pool & beach. People are very kind. I like that!
But location is far from places like Alcazar, Big C, Walking Street, so have to get a expensive TAXI.
I recommend this hotel strongly. You won't be disappointed.

The first impression about this place is space. There is plenty, the rooms are large enough to hold a dance for 6 people, so it's great for families with kids. The decos
at the lobby is very traditional and interesting but the arrangement lacks warmth because there is so much space again. Breakfast is satisfactory , again the arrangement of the meal area is canteen like but tolerable.
I like the pool , it's exotic and very relaxing.
You need to catch a cab to Pattaya and it takes 5 mins at a cost of 50 baht per person.
Staff are friendly and polite but lacks enthusiasm, you need to ask for coffee. All in all I rate this 3 and half stars.

The room is quite roomy but it would be better if they provide a working table .I expected to have sea view room but it is impossible to have that for superior room .The food is ok .I will try others hotel with the same rate.

A beautiful resort in an excellent location opposite Jomtien Beach, a 10 baht taxi ride to Pattaya, and close to a variety of restaurants. The pool and facilities are spacious and quite beautiful.

we enjoyed our stay . the only criticism we would have is that there is no list of what services the hotel offers other than where you go for breakfast. An example would be do they have an internet service as in a computer for guests use etc.
