Shocking, 4 stars? more like 2 max.
Firstly I am a well seasoned traveller who has been to Thailand many times over the last 10 Years. This trip I decided to stay some where different and after reading the reviews the LK Royal suite sounded perfect (location, facilities, 4 star accom, etc). On arrival I soon worked out that there are 2 separate accommodation facilities, one is the main hotel and the other is the annex which is defiantly not a 4 star facility (2 star max). We where located in the first floor of the annex. We arrived late evening and on investigation the patio doors had been subject to an attempted break in. I requested to move to an upper floor as my wife did not feel safe, however was told we must wait until morning. We moved next morning and it transpired that the patio door would not lock. I reported this to the reception and they dispatched work men. After 2 hours we still could not go out as the workmen could not fix the door. I returned to reception to complain and found 2 other disgruntled customers with similar issues (staying in the annex, expected 4 star accom etc). I explained I was not happy about the room and the fact we could not go out and secure the room. I request to look at the rooms in the main hotel. The receptionist showed me a suite in the main hotel and it was fantastic, however I needed to pay extra. As I had already pre paid I was suck between a rock and hard place and eventually against my better judgement I decided to move. The suite was massive and you could easily have lived in it. Overall there are far better places to stay for a lot less money. Be warned if you happen to be housed in the annex it is not 4 star accom. You can get far better across the road for half the cost.
