Good value
Room is a bargain when booked through AsiaRooms.com The room and bathroom were decent size. View was nice and location was very convenient. Breakfast buffet needs improvement, but is edible.

Good Hotel
Overall our group of 10 were very happy with all aspects of the hotel. My partner and i have stayed in many different hotels in Phitsanulok and Topland is one of the better ones but overpriced if you pay the walk in rate or booking direct on their web site and even when paying through Agoda its still overpriced. There are better value hotels in town.

Something or nothing
We stopped here as a travel break on the way to Sukothai. The hotel itself was nice enough, although a bit sterile and lacking any character.
The TV listing was completely inaccurate, with no channels being where they were meant to be.
We were made to feel quite unwelcome in the restaurant in the evening because we were not part of a large group that took up most of the restaurant. They had to find us somewhere to sit ect and check what food was available to us as we were not able to use the group's buffett. I assume all non-group members had the same trouble.
Staff's command of English was poor.

Business Hotel connected to a shopping mall, casino, disco, food services etc. Not a great deal of personality but really everything you need, including an extensive breakfast. Though quite close to the train and bus station, you might want to call for some transportation to get here.

We had a triple sharing room, 2+1 single beds, room was spacious and in a good location. Walking distance from train station and near central area. Conveniently adjoined with a shopping mall. Had high floor, so pretty good view of city. Didn't make much use of facilities except room service (reasonably priced, good food) and the pool (decent and big, "pool bar", albeit slightly dirty with fallen leaves from overhanging shrubs). Had quite a bit of difficulty with the staff though - although friendly, language was quite a barrier. We're definitely not newcomers to Thailand, so we had some idea of what to expect, but this was way below what we encountered in more touristy places like Bangkok/Phuket etc. Had to make 2 calls to room service for extra pillows, repeating requests and gesturing wildly for maps of the area and trips to nearby Sukhothai to several people from concierge/tourist counter. Overall, a place like this would cost twice as much or more in Bangkok or Phuket, and considering you'll probably spend a lot of time in the room given there's not much to do or see around town, pretty good value.

the hotel is integrated into a shopping center, which is not very spectular. little distance to several wats and about 15 minutes walk from night bazar, which is very nice. room was comfotable and clean. variety for breakfast was good, although the restaurant is reminiscent of a waiting hall.

The rooms at the hotel are tired. Old carpet, stained ceilings, very hard beds. The staff were very nice but no one speaks good English. We had a medical emergency and needed to get to the closest hospital. The staff took 10 minutes on the computer making a notation, then repeatedly told us that it would cost 500 baht to go there. It was only when the obviously ill person came down into the lobby that they called a taxi. Sorry but cannot recommend unless you speak some Thai.

I enjoyed my two nights at the Topland. The pool was terrific, but I thought the restaurant food was merely OK. Big minus for me, no BBC, CNN or other decent English language TV progs.
