Prices high during Kings Cup Regatta
Very enjoyable
I found the Sugar Palm Kata a very relaxing,clean quiet place to stay. Its location at the beach, the general overall feeling with the happy and very helpful staff from the domestic to the clerical, was really noticed and appreciated. I would definitely stay again,also recommend it to friends. Thanks for an enjoyable stay, If I'm ever going to stay in Kata again your hotel will be my first stop. Jeff Ladgrove

Excellent Hotel
Super Clean and Super Nice. Was lucky to get upgraded room to the hill due to the booking one under renovation.
Good experience
2nd time staying at Sugar Palm, Kata. Deluxe room is really clean and cosy. 2-3 min walk to the beach and amenities. Great massage salon right at the entrance of the resort.
Tacky hotel without service and bad food
This hotel tries to be a hip, boutique hotel but fails miserably. The bellboys were more helpful and courteous than the receptionists. I checked in at 8 p.m., they couldn't find my reservation and refused a visibly pregnant solo traveler a late (2 p.m.) check-out. Also, the hotel already had the lights turned off (presumably to save on electricity) so the place looked gloomy. Don't be deceived by the photographs - it's a really small place - the small pool is right by the lobby and rooms.
Got swamped by mosquitoes in the internet room; there wasn't a fan. Breakfast the next morning was by the alley with cars going by - with bees swimming in the butter bowl, and other food being not tasty/fresh. Horrible experience - way overpriced - save your money!

I would recommend this hotel for those...
I would recommend this hotel for those staying in Kata beach only as Patong is far and there is no hotel shuttle going there. It is conveniently located few meters from the beach, has nice swimming pool and very elegant rooms. The staff is kind, helpful and professional.
