Comftorble stay
We enjoyed out stay at the banthai. The location is great close to shops. 10 min walk from the nightlife. The staff were nice but not overly friendly, at times they found it hard to understand English, this was only a few of them. Good security around the hotel. The only thing that was a bit annoying was that the pool closed at 9pm. I can understand this is because of the pool view rooms and noise that may travel into them from swimmers however it is very hot, especially at night and a nice dip in the pool would have been nice.
Not value for money
Room was rather costly at 3960 baht per rm per night. So was expecting a high end resort with good service. However, reception personnel tend to be impatient and do not offer suggestions or help unless being requested multiple times. Room's bathtub have stains. Overall, it's just a normal resort without any exceptionally well service. Do not feel very welcome there.
Great location
The hotel was in a great location - straight across the road from the beach, with Starbucks and Rests at the front. It is far enough back from the main road so it is a very quiet location. The Hotel looks as if it has been undergoing some room renovation and the rooms are comfortable and clean. The bathrooms are a little dated in decor but very clean. Although I was travelling on my own I would recommend it for families. Phuket could be a bit daunting for children but the Hotel is set back from the road and offers three pools - which is an oasis from the hussle and bussle of the street.

Warning! - Banthai reported a transaction error...
Warning! - Banthai reported a transaction error of the paying credit card via email a day before check-in. We called to confirm check-in the night before after recieving the email and asked to pay in cash. Their reply was positive and stated that the room was still available and to pay in cash on arrival. Upon arriving at Banthai the following morning they stated that the room was now booked and our room was now cancelled. Basically we had stay here for one night and find alternative accomodation ourselves as the manager dealing with our complaint at Banthai went to lunch and left us wait for over 3hrs. Thankyou to Asiarooms for their assistance in this case as they went to the trouble to help us find alternative accomodation at short notice. Banthai is a great modern hotel but it's not worth staying there as the service here is poor, the tv/internet is very slow and keeps cutting out. Not worth it for the amount of money you pay for the room. For a 5 star hotel we were very dissappointed on how they dealt with our case.
