Exactly what we wanted and expected!
We spent a little over 3 weeks in Phuket, 1 week in Patong, 1 week in Rawai and 1 week in Bang Tao at Andaman Seaside Resort (Formerly named Andaman Seaview Resort). Name change is obviously because a newer resort has been built in front of Anadaman so it no loger enjoys ocean views. (not that that is an issue for us as we live on the Gold Coast and are used to ocean views). Our group of 4 (mum dad - 10yo & 13yo) shared the one room to save money. The room was very large and spacious & incorporated two king size beds and plenty of storage, large fridge and coffee making facitities(no microwave tho) It also has a decent sized balcony overlooking the street and is fully air conditioned. Our only gripe (which we found in many places not only here) is how hard the mattresses on the beds were; although the housekeeping staff assisted with foam toppers which improved things a lot. Be sure to request them. Shower/toilet was a little smelly but that's almost expected in older asian accomodation and didnt cause us any undue discomformt etc. Location of the resort was perfect. about 40m walk down an access lane straight to the beach, restaurants, taxi rank and shops virtually at your doorstep. Nice pool & free WiFi for the kids and our stay included breakfast which wasnt extravagant by any means, but footed the bill nicely with a good selection of hot food included. Room was clean and made up each day. We dont tend to spend a lot of time in our rooms when travelling, so luxury takes 2nd place to cost for us and I felt this reort was the right balance for and we would certainly stay again. Staff were very freindly & accomodating.
