It's my 6th time in Phuket, so...
It's my 6th time in Phuket, so have stayed at a number of Hotels around the whole island on my previous visits, but my 1st time at Karon Sea Sands...I was at this hotel in November 2006...My overview of the hotel is it's close to a Superior 3*..First impression of the hotel is good, big reception area, neat and tidy..Location is close to the north end on Karon, very close to the traffic circle were the hub of restaurants, pubs and shopping starts, although it is NOT beachfront but just across the main Karon beach road +-300/400m to the main Karon beach area which is within easy walking distance..A number of restaurants and plenty of shops, massages etc are close to the hotel..My room which was a DELUXE was ready on check-in, had a comfy King Size bed as I requested, room was very spacious, nicely tiled, neat and tidy with big balcony..was definitely a decent size room, with huge bathroom facilities with a shower and a seperate bath, neat and tidy..Maybe not the most modern hotel room but still a pretty room with all that you need, fridge, air con, tv etc and a complimentary fruit basket..Hotel has 1 big long pool area which is designed right up against the rooms, very pretty, with ample pool lounges and umbrella's to laze around the pool if you feel like a break from the beach sand..The Karon beach which is one very long beach streching right from north to south of Karon area is a 2min stroll from the hotel where you can hire a lounge and umbrella for a day..Breakfast was fair and very basic as are all the hotels in Phuket..I'd definitely stay at this hotel again, thoroghly enjoyed my stay at this hotel..It is not the cheapest priced hotel in Karon but has great rooms and pool facilities and getting around Karon is within a few minute walk to the main Karon shopping, restaurant area and +-300/400m from the beach..November is a great time to visit, however was extremely busy, packed with tourists..Beaches are great but also busy, calm and very warm sea, it's very hot and very little rain..Love Phuket and will be back in 2007...
