We were greeted in a very comfortable lobby and immediately served a cold tamarind juice drink, and then the staff started the check in process. We were offered an "upgrade" to a bigger room with two twin beds?!? We declined, and were led to our room on the ground floor of the original building. Everything was clean and nice, but dated. The bed was very firm, but there was a choice of 11 different pillow styles! The spa was right outside our door, and the pool was right outside the other door. We took advantage of the spa twice each, and the service/value was EXCELLENT. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and helpful, any thing you asked, they could take care of, even when we wanted to dine outside the facility, an excellent reccomendation was made for a place 400 meters down the beach. AHHH, the beach, beautiful sand, kept very clean, the water was excellent, and the vendors were not in your face every 5 minutes. At 4 in the afternoon, an elephant comes by to greet and play with you. I highly reccomend the elephant's version of Thai massage! Happy hour would be just a tad better if it started earlier, and lasted longer!
