My family (including grandchildren) booked this hotel because of the website's claims for child entertainment. However, there was no Kids' Club available, nor was the play area (ie swings, frame etc) very well maintained. What was annoying was the fact that where guests had booked in via other agencies there was plenty of activity for their children ie kids' club and pool acitivities. The children's pool though was very good.
The hotel has a really good buffet breakfast. It has a very good swimming-pool and it is next to the beach. The only thing we don't like was that they don't put ammenities in the room all the days and the room didn't have minibar.
The phuket orchid was a great value for money hotel. It is a very large complex which does not allow for friendly interaction with staff we have experienced at other resorts. The swimming areas were extremely inviting with many choices.
the service was good as was the food.
some of the facilities were tired, especially in the bathroom where leaks onto the floor from the shower was a constant. MANAGEMENT AND STAFF WERE EXCELLENT.
this hotel is very good , nice room , bathoom and service .
The two bad things are its location , karon beech is very far from the main site of activities in patong beech and the other thing is the food which is only suited for asians , really i found nothing to eat.
It's been a good value for money hotel. The location's great and the food good too.
The hotel's very strict on late check-out and will charge by the hour for any extension. The hotel should open up a bit more to allow up to 3 hours of late check-out extension as the flights into Phuket is not plentiful. Also, if the room has no subsequent booking, late check-out should be allowed especially on sundays.
However, the hotel's kind enough to arrange for shower room for patrons who can wash-up before leaving.
Phuket orchid Resort is a perfect hotel.
We have 3 rooms with directly intrance to the pool,
thas was very, very good, because we have our grandchildren with us.
Our stay was pleasant and comfortable. I was a little disappointed with the "happy hour" rules at the bar. Most hotels and bars I have visited overseas have had either a buy one - get one free or a half price policy. I think 20% discount for "happy hour" is not happy enough.
